| [News] Burned Yorkie's owner found guilty of felony cruelty The woman who tied a 6-year-old Yorkshire terrier to a hot stove and fatally burned the dog pleaded guilty Wednesday to felony aggravated animal cruelty. Tanya Marie Martin, 38, was arrested Oct. 19 at her Lakewood apartment. Police were called by a neighbor, who had seen smoke coming from the apartment and had gone to check on Martin. Inside, he heard the dog, Bobo, yelping and saw that the terrier was on fire. Bobo died of organ failure five days after the incident. Martin will be sentenced June 4.

| As far as I am concerned, the following should be her sentence: Sentenced to be tied to a hot stove until she catches on fire. The end. Sickening.

| Wasn't she mentally ill and not taking her medicine when she did this? I would hope that she will never be allowed to own another pet EVER! Mental illness is horrible but animal cruelty is inexcusable!

| There's a special place in hell for someone who would do that to a helpless little animal. |

| Amazing how she knew to hurt a helpless dog but did'nt hurt herself! Yes, she is diffenately deranged but needs to be put away so she dosen't hurt another one. If she can't remember to take her meds she needs to be put in a place where someone can give them to her. |

| ohhh yes, I remember this one. She was mentally ill, but I am sorry to say, it doesnt excuse what she did. They need to confind her to some type of hospital, where they give her meds and she cannot leave the place. This was just awful. I can't even imagine this happening. I look at my babies and want to just cry.

My Little Man! Donating Member | Thank you so much for posting the update! I was wondering about poor Bobo's case. She needs to be put away for a long time, far away from animals!
