[News] Thieves break into Lake home, steal Yorkie 1 Attachment(s) Lake County reporter Helen Eckinger just sent me this heart breaking story...how could people be so cruel? We have to help find Precious. http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/fea...9/precious.jpg When burglars broke into Marie and Ken McKinnon's Clermont home on Tuesday, they took the most important thing in the house: the McKinnon's 5 lb. Yorkie, Precious. "They just scooped her up and took her away," Marie McKinnon said. "We don't know what to do." The McKinnons are hoping that a latent fingerprint found by Lake County Sheriff's Office will reveal the identity of the dognapper. But, they also ask that anyone who think they may have seen Precious, who is 3 1/2 years old, will contact them at 352-227-9272. Go to http://www.findtoto.com/missing-pets.htm, click on Florida in search area and Precious is 2nd on the list. Watch a video plea for help below YouTube - Help me find my dog Precious!! |
Thats horrible! And one of my biggest fears... Just last week, a local woman's home was broken into... They took a lot of stuff, including her Yorkie! Its just horrible to hear about things like this :( |
How awful That is my greatest fear as well. I sure hope Precious finds her way back home |
That happened to my friend back in december, they cut her phone lines attacked her large dog and stole her yorkie, Only her yorkie, from her house |
OMG...I can't even imagine people who'd do something so heartless. It just makes me sick to my stomach seriously. They must not have a brain or a heart or a soul.....the poor little dog is scared and the people brokenhearted. I hope they catch the thieves AND the dog is found and returned safe and sound:hands: |
OMG I can't even imagine if this happened to me.. How can people be so heartless? She is beautiful and hope she gets her back soon. Was she a show dog? What in the world were they thinking? It's CRAZY!!!! I will pray for precious until she is returned to her momma.:big_hug::hands::hands::hands: |
This is such bad news. I can't even imagine. I swear anyone who comes into my home can take anything they want as long as they leave my baby alone. She's the one thing that can't be replaced! I hope they find Precious soon. |
That is horrible. :( I hope they find her, and the bad person is caught! |
I cousin of my husband's yorkie dog was stolen from the car. They were parked in their driveway and had put their dog inside. The other is a doctor whose cleaning lady must have left the door opened, the yorkie obviously was scooped up and taken. This doctor knocked on neighbors houses, nobody saw the dog. :thumbdown |
that is terrible if anyone stole chester, there would be a manhunt, out for him people are just cruel, I hope she is home soon. |
Like others have said on here, That's one of my biggest fears. Someone broke into my breeders place, and took 5 puppies and her stud. Police were called, but nothing so far. What is going on with people? God I hope they find poor Precious, and return her to her mommy and daddy. Prayers go out to that family, and all others that have lost a pet or family member. :hands: :hands: :hands: :hands: :hands: |
It's like you have to keep it a secret that you have yorkies these days....Lock and double lock your doors !!! Prayers are said for their babies and their parents.... Too bad the 'chip' isn't a homing device !!! |
I can't believe the nerve of some people!!! If that happend to my little Toby I wouldn't stop looking till the day I found him!!! I hope you find Precious soon.:hands::hands::hands::hands: |
This breaks my heart!!! Any leads on who may have their furbaby? I prayers go out the family!!! |
OMG this is horrible!!! This is a big fear of mine too! Take my stuff but leave my fur baby...I am so sorry this has happened....I will keep my fingers crossed for you that you get your precious baby back! |
This is horrible....I cannot believe that people would do this! I would be so heartbroken!!! Keep us up to date on this story! :( Kay |
That's awful! I worry about that with Bella too. I've never worried about it before but maybe because we've always had Lab's and I can't imagine trying to steal a large dog. We have a completely fenced in backyard (8ft fence)but when Bella goes outside to potty I still keep an eye on her. You just never know. |
That is such a sad story. I would be so very heartbroken. I can imagine how they feel. You'd be so helpless.:( |
My biggest fear also...... I hope these people are caught and prosecuted.... |
Seems like it is happening more and more these days. People are siii unkind and thoughtless. They just know that Yorkies are worth money and do not care about aynthing else. Such a shame:( |
this is so sad!! i hope they catch these thugs and get precious back home! |
You know times are really hard when you can't leave your furbabies at home and trust that they will be safe. It really concerns me that our country is heading faster and faster in this direction. I double lock the doors, set the alarm for them, and turn the webcam on to a website so that I can watch them in the house, and still worry. So I bring them with me to work most of the time. Even with me, the housekeeping lady at my office made a statement to my Pookie, "I'll take you and sell you, I bet I could get about $1K for your little self." OMG I snatched myself around, got up in her face and told her I would cut her hands off if she spoke like that again, and she wouldn't steal anything, then reported it to the owner of the company, thank goodness I haven't seen her lately. This is where we are now. Our little babies are being stolen and sold by theiving, sorry, worthless, beings that don't deserve to breath our air and aren't worth the powder it would take to blow them away. This is just an awful thing to have happen to our babies. Think of the anxiety that poor baby is going through. I am so sorry for all of the victims of this outrageous behavior. Prayers and Hugs, Denise |
Oh, yeah, I forgot to add I'm usually a kind, loving, giving, and caring individual. But when it comes to all of our babies, I can be a South Georgia Redneck! |
I've never even considered having somebody take one of my dogs until I got Walker. I take him to work with me every day and people comment all the time how sweet and well behaved and cute etc he is and I've had numerous customers ask me, if I'd be willing to sell him. Everybody LOVES this dog and that's what worries me now, never did in the past. But in this day and age you just can't trust even the nicest people any more. How sad:(:( I sure hope that ALL these poor folks who had their fur babies taken will be reunited with them, soon. I know it would brake my heart......:(:( |
Does anyone have a update? I pray for Precious everyday... |
I just went to this site: Find Toto - Missing Pets Database and still no update. Precious has not been found. I couldn't find out anything in the Orlando Sentinel either. I will keep searching to see what I can find. I can't believe they haven't updated us. Praying for Precious. :hands: :hands: :hands: :hands: |
I really hope they find the little guy. I never worried before myself, but now all I have are little guys. I am considering getting another large breed, just so I feel safer with my babies in the house alone. It's sad to think that for every one they manage to find, there are several that never do get found. A lady that lives down the street from me had her Bulldog stolen right off of her patio. She lives in an apartment complex, for goodness sake! Let him out to get a little sun and went to get something. Next thing you know, he's gone. I don't think it was even 5 minutes. Makes me think she was being watched. Makes me nervous to walk my babies around here. So, if I do, I tend to make sure there is no one around when I turn onto my street. Paranoid, I kow. But, better safe than sorry anymore. |
I know what you mean. Mine go out a doggie door, down a ramp to their dog run. I use to never really worry about someone taking them. I worried more about them getting out. So I have made sure every little hole, and cranny is blocked up. Now I worry about someone taking them too. I shut the doggie door and keep them inside when I go away for fear someone will take them when they go out to the bathroom. It's a terrible feeling, but it is happening all the time. Darlene |
omg i pray they find Precious! |
This has always terrified me, the fear of not knowing where my pet is or if I'll see her again. I'm wondering something and would love to have some feedback on it. My husband is in the business of making tracking equipment. He makes them for various reasons mostly being animal tracking. I want him to make a collar for my Roxie so that if anything happens we can track her. I'm thinking that if you can make a collar that the tracking device is somewhat inconspicuous you might be able to catch a thief. My daughter's husky wears one because she loves to run if she gets loose. We've tracked her several times and gotten her back. She loves to chase dear and go for a swim in the river! I'm just wondering if any of you think this would be something beneficial? |
