I wouldn't recommend Science Diet at all. I highly recommend feeding a raw diet to most dogs. There are many commercial raw foods out there that make feeding raw very convenient. I've always fed Nature's Variety. After raw, I would recommend homecooking, but only if you have done careful research so that your dog is getting all the nutrients it needs. There are also some great dehydrated raw foods such as Ziwi Peak and the Honest Kitchen. In cases where the owner insists on feeding kibble, I'd recommend brands such as Nature's Variety, Before Grain by Merrick, Wellness, and there are others out there..just the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
Soon after I posted this thread I found Eicosaderm by Dermapet. It is a fish oil and Vit. E supplement. I just pump it on their food once a day. It really has helped the hair growth and I highly recommend it. I buy mine from my vet's office but you can order it online I think too. |
