Marcel's Bloodwork: Neuter Rescheduled :( Well, after getting myself all worked up over getting him neutered today - the vet wants to reschedule just in case. His cholesterol is low and his amylase is low. She wants to check the bile acids, just to rule out any liver problems. He is SO healthy, vibrant, and symptom free that I cannot imagine that anything is seriously wrong w/ his liver. I guess I'll know for sure in a day or so. :( |
I am so sorry to hear that, but very glad that your vet is being so careful. I'm praying that all of the new tests come out fine. That has to be frustrating. |
Oh dear :( Seen as he's so healthy, fingers crossed the bile acid test reveals that there is nothing wrong with his liver. There are so many things that can affect the tests. I'll be praying that the results bring good news :hands: |

What a wonderful vet you must have. It is great that Marcel is so healthy but it is always better to check. Ellie's vet is shocked that her bile acids are up because she has no symptoms that she would call clinical. It can be very frustrating. |
Sounds like you have a detail oriented vet, and that's great! He sounds like a healthy little boy :) but it's always good to check. I'm sure he'll be fine though ;) |

Oh, you are so sweet - I'm waking up to all these great positive thoughts and messages. You're just the best. Thank you so much for all the reassurance. I really don't think they'll find anything (knocking on my desk right now), he is just too healthy, vibrant - and he shows no clinical signs. So....I'll update as soon as I know, I guess it can take a couple days. Thanks all, you're wonderful. |
I don't blame you for being worried...Marcel is so tiny, I'm glad the vet is checking all that they should....there's no such thing as being to careful in situations like this.... |

It's so nice to hear you have such a terrific Vet. and I'm sure your baby is just fine. Generally we can tell if there is a problem, and since your boy is lively and feeling good, then he probably is. ;) |

YAY Marcel! I am calling on Monday to schedule Zoey. She has recovered from her spay and gets stitches out next week. I want to get the bile test done the same day stitches come out. Cross your fingers for us. I am so happy for Marcel. He is one of my favorite little guys on YT!:) |
So glad that everything turned out well. The down side is that you have to re-work yourself up to another appointment. The up side is that you know without a doubt that he's in great shape!! :thumbup: |
