I personally would not recommend garlic/yeast tablets as garlic is VERY toxic to dogs, just FYI...

The minksheen smell actually grew on me. I give lulu tablets. She loves, loves that thing. It's like another treat to her

I think that giving a head or clove of raw garlic might be toxic but I doubt that the tablet will pose a threat being as it's not a huge amount. I have always given these tablets and never had any problem. I even found out a breeder friend of mine has and always uses them as well and I have passed on the info to a ton of other friends and no one has had any problems.

I usually give one pill a day.

Garlic is only harmful in very large doses.

I'm also looking into natural flea repellent, i'm not happy with all the chemicals in frontline.

That was what the vet told me when I asked him about the brewers yeast with garlic. He said it was a good holistic approach and very good for their skin and coat.

The dog would have to eat a good bit of garlic in order for it to be toxic. A very small amount doesn't hurt them and would is actually beneficial.

The flea treatments like Frontline scare me to death. Our Yorkie is 14wks. old and my vet put Advantage on her when we went in for her 3rd series of shots. I had told her I did not want to use any of these products but she assured me the advantage did not get in the blood stream. One of my female schnauzers could not walk on her back leg, dragging and foot turned under after I put Frontline plus on her. Never again will I use the products. I may have to bathe mine in Dawn and then a flea shampoo but if I do then so be it. These products imo, are very very dangerous.

I buy four paws brewers yeast with garlic tablets from Jefferspet.com for $6.95 for 1000 tablets...that lasts a long time. I know that petland, walmart carry it.

Pretty much the same thing I buy just their brand. I do get the one with the garlic though as that has proven to be a natural deterrent. Not sure if that one had the garlic in it.

I never liked the whole chemical thing either. I also worry because I have three young children and I don't want that stuff getting on them.
