| Appetide and Losing Weight. HELP !! It probably has been asked multiple times and I always thought I know the answer. It started 3 weeks ago that we have to go for vacation. She has to stay with our friend who has a cat. She eats the cat foods, and it seems she likes the cat food more than the dog food. After that she has diarrhea for 2 days which I thought normal because of the fat contents in the cat food. She eats well after that for 1 week. But since then she seems lost her appetide. Chelsea is 1.1 yo and she is losing some weight in the past 3 weeks. She used to be 5.5 lbs and know only 4.5 lbs. She is not sick but has no appetide in this past 2 weeks. It is hard to make her eat. She usually eats canidae and mixed with evangers chicken drummets. Now, she does not want to eat the kibble at all not and barely touch the chicken. I have tried homecook too with most of the receipes that are posted here. She does not like it. She will eventually eat if I let her starve but since she has been losing some weight I do not want to do this. I took her to the vet, the vet said that she is active and healthy. Any suggestion ? Anything that can stimulate her appetide ? I am very frustrated. Thanks. |

| It sounds like she's already taken her to the vet and the vet thinks she's ok. I would get some nutracal for her if you're worried about her weight and see if she'll take some of that. And I wouldn't give her ANYTHING else other than what she's supposed to eat. If you feed kibble, maybe wet it a little, or like someone else has posted...put a little spit on it and see if she'll eat it. I've never heard of that before, but whoever posted it the other day, says it works like a charm. I think she may have gotten used to the cat food (my Max LOVES the cat's canned food and will inhale an entire can of it if I don't pay attention to him, but I feed the cats in their own bathroom and try to make sure that Max doesn't get to their food ) and now her food doesn't taste as good. If she continued to have diarrhea, I'd def. take her into the vet again though. If she's losing a lot of fluid, you can try giving her some Pedialyte (or whatever store you shop at generic's brand of it) in her water. Just some ideas. Good luck with your baby!

| I agree give the nutracal. It really works well, and they like the taste.
