Royal Canin Yorkshire It's supposed to be formulated specially for Yorkies. Does anyone feed this or know anything about it? |
I don't know much about it, but I know there are a few here who do feed it. Giving this a bump for those who do, so they can help you :D |
I use this food and Rocky loves. I asked my vets opinion before I starting using it and he highly recommended it. I know a lot of other YT feed ther babies RC Yorkie. |
My :aimeeyork :aimeeyork :aimeeyork love it! |
We use Royal Canin for Shelby & Seymour. I think it has really helped their coats look as good as possible. They haven't had any problems digesting it. Their poo always is consistent - never loose or too hard. They are about 3 years old now (Shelby 3+ and Seymour will be 3 in Oct). They are always ready to eat it and seem to like it quite well. Hope this info Helps!! :) |
protein Protein level is quite high at 27 % for a Yorkie..IMO |
When we first got Syd we had him on it for a while and he did good. After doing a lot of research I found that Canidae All Life Stages is much better. He'e been on it for about 5 months and doing great. We also supplement with Missing Link Plus. |
Just checking into this food and requested a sample... |

I had mine on it for about three months then all he** broke lose, upset stomaches, rashes, Frasiers was so bad it went into a bacterial infection and cost a bundle at the Vets as there were other problems as well iwith him which I suspect was all food induced from RC YT formula. I don't feed any of their products anymore and they are all fine including Frasier. IMO protein is way too high for a yorkie which was my gut instinct from the beginning and I have no idea why I tried it. |
Oh!!! I used this food for a while thinking it would help Sophie. Unfortunately, she got Struvite Crystals. I'm not positive it was the Royal Canin, but after switching to Canidae Lamb she has had no problems whatsoever. So just watch your baby closely for any signs of change... Good Luck! *Side note: Her coat did look beautiful while on Royal Canin. Since her coat was so nice i figured the food was good for her until she got so bloated and stopped going pee-pee. HORRIBLE... |
I use Royal Canin Puppy 33, I was told that the protein was too high, she will be turning one in December and I plan to change to Eagle Pack. It is true what they say about the Protein, but I was told for the first year, they need it. If and when you plan changing your dog food, it needs to be a slow transition, so I have been told. Thanks for the replies.I saw this advertised and thought I would see what you guys thought about it before I gave it a try.Ellie is very fussy in her eating habits. What she will eat one day she will turn her nose up at the next! |
we use royal canin because my breeder recommended it. Zoe seems to do well on it but now I'm thinking maybe I need to do some research... |
