Simon and Hallie at morning and night. I feed them 1/4 cup each am & pm. Simon will tell me when he's hungry though and it's usually around lunchtime when I'm home. He will paw at the food container :) |
i feed morgan twice a day. She's on NV frozen raw medallions so she gets 1 1 1/2 in the morning and 1 at night. each medallion is 1 oz of food. |
They get fed a 1/4 cup twice daily. |
Sophie was fed twice a day, same for Charlie. Like Archie, 20 minutes in the bowl and then I remove it. Sometimes, they are like us and just not as hungry, so I don't force. Although I believe I am overfeeding him and need to reduce the amount in his dish. Suppose that means I will have to reduce the amount in my bowl too. |
Hi Marci!!! Glad to see you are here :) ! Wylie (7.5 lbs., 3 yr old) and Marcel (2.5 lb., 7.5 mth old) - they have kibble for grazing at all times. I was feeding them the homecooked meals at 6am, 4pm, and 8pm. Just last week, I decided to try eliminating the 8pm feeding bc Marcel should be getting to the point where he'd be okay w/ the 2 meals + grazing. It seems to be going well - if they're hungry later, they seem to be grabbing a few kibble. I think this is the schedule I'll stick to long term. |
Use to be Milo ate 3 meals and free grazing. I pulled the kibble when he was eating so much of it he wasn't eating the good home cooked stuff. So I now feed twice a day--1/4 cup home cooked with a few kibble mixed in and he snacks on raw fruits and veggies as well. Occassionally when we are eating one of his fav meals for OUR dinner, he gets in a third meal. *** 8 months-- 5.5 lbs |
I feed Chloe twice a day (morning and evening). 1/2 shot glass full of Canidae dry kibble and 1 to 2 tbsp wet Three Dog Bakery wet food. I used to just feed her 2 shot glass of Canidae dry kibble per day. But I wanna change her food and add more variety. She loves the wet food!! She always finish all her food when I give it to her. I also feed her 2 pieces of treats during the day. I break the treat into a smaller portion. Chloe is 10 months old and weighs between 6 to 6 1/2 lbs. |
1\4 cup kibble with plain nonfat yogurt @ 9am each 1\4 cup kibble with plain nonfat yogurt @ 6pm each I rotate between 4 types of kibble every 2 months or whenever they get sick of it. -Chicken Soup For The Puppy Lover's Soul -Innova Puppy -Canidae -Wellness Puppy 2-3 snacks (fresh fruits & veggies, cottage cheese) throughout the day as needed. 1 small treat/snack at bedtime. (They love the peanut butter treats!) |
When Ellie was eating Science Diet (gross stuff) she was free fed and ate about 1/2 cup per day. With homecooked she gets fed three times a day. She gets 1/4 cup in the morning and 1/4 cup at night with 1/4 cup in the middle of the day most times but sometimes she gets maybe just some cottage cheese for lunch and sometimes she gets 1/4 cup midday and cottage cheese. She also gets pieces of fruit and veggies throughout the day. I will probably switch her to 1/8 midday pretty soon. She is scrawny so thats why she gets so much. 5 and 1/2 pounds |
I feed our three twice a day...early in the morning around 6-6:30am and then again right before bed around 8pm. I switched to this feeding schedule to help with pottying in the night, feeding them later makes it so they all three sleep thru the night. They also get several treats a day to snack on and they all seem to do great with this routine. Magic is almost 3 and 5lbs, Sailor is 2 and 1/2 and 9lbs and Captain is 10 months and 11lbs (Silky Terrier) so they are all big enough to make it thru the day just fine. |
I have a 1.5 lb Yorkie and a 12 lb bichon/maltese. I try not to over feed my dogs, even if they constantly beg for food. My bichon always seems hungry no matter how much I feed her. For my Yorkie, I fill the bottom of a dish, about 4 inches in diameter, twice a day. I do the same for my Bichon, but the dish is about 6 inches in diameter. I just fill the bottom, nothing more. I'm a stickler for not overfeeding dogs, because over weight dogs are not healthy. You should be able to barely feel the ribs of your dogs IMO. This way, they're not too skinny, and not too fat. Just right. |
11 Months 2-3 tsps of her home cooked meals Fed: 2 times a day and she gets her fruits & veggie treats every day. 4.5 pounds |

When Syd turned 6 months we tried to cut him back to 2 meals a day but he wasn't having any of that. I ration his food out in the morning and feed him 3 times a day. He gets the same amount of food that he would with 2 meals but he gets it 3 times a day. |
