| Who to feed her?? Any suggesions? Hi my fellow Yorkie lovers! So, I just got Chloe about a month ago (she was around 9-10 months when I bought her home with me). So, her previous owner was feeling her Hill Science Diet Original. Chloe is doing fine with it. But I do want switch to something else when she turns one year old. For some odd reason (I am not sure if it is just me too sensitive or what) I notice her coat isn't as shiny as other Yorkies? So, I went to Pet's mart the other day and checked out different kind of dry food. I noticed there were 2 kinds (at least what I could see on the shelf so far) specifically design for Yorkie? One is Royal Canin and the other one is Eukanuba. Have anyone out there tried both of them? Which one is better? Or do you have any other suggestions? Oh, also, I always wonder about wet dog food? I wanna feed Chloe some wet food too. But it is good for her? Would she just get to used to eating wet food and don't wanna eat her dry food anymore? Would it upset her stomach if I feed her wet food all the sudden? How often should I feed her wet food? Thanks!! |

| Some Yorkie coats are silky. Some are cottony. My two have cottony coats - they are soft and thick. They are shiny in the sense that they are not dry, but they are not "silky" like most Yorkies. Anyway, my point is that sometimes even with the best foods your Yorkie will not be as silky as other Yorkies. HOWEVER - I agree that Canidae is a fantastic food. It has more Omega 3&6 than a lot of the other foods out there which is good for your dog's coat. Plus, it's not one of the "designer" foods so it's reasonably priced. We just switched back from Innova Evo because I expected the Evo to be so much better, and it wasn't. It was fine, but Canidae is a bargain and they are a really good company that I trust. You can't get it at Petsmart. Check out www.canidae.com to find a store or you can buy online. We've used the All Life Stages, Lamb & Rice and this time I bought the Chicken & Rice.

| Good quality canned food is fine to feed every day. Mine get it for dinner only, and even then mixed with kibble. Otherwise they stink up the room. We like Merrick Wingaling canned - but Canidae canned has good ingredients too. Lots of people on here like the Evangers canned too. I don't dislike it, it just made Loki VERY gassy... Oh, but brush brush brush. You have to wipe their face after they eat canned food anyway, so just brush their teeth too. Canidae is a stinky food anyway so you will want fresh breath!
