irritated eye?

Hello, I'm hoping someone could give me advice on my little Gizmo. I took him to the groomer today which is the first time he's been. We've always cut his hair ourselves but this time we wanted to try a groomer as we aren't as thorough as we should be. He was fine when we first brought him home, but he is now pawing at his left eye and it looks real watery. His right eye is fine and wide open but the left eye just looks like it's irritated and it looks half closed. Both eyes are overly watery. He was fine before I took him to the groomer. Anyone have any idea what it could be? Or can advise how to make him more comfortable? Help??

He must gotten some sort of irritant in his eye while at the groomers. Why don't you call the groomers and find out if they used a spray or lotion to his hair or something. Or maybe the shampoo they used did it. He definitely has something going on there. Try rinsing his eye out with a little lukewarm water to see if that helps. I would also definitely call the vet to see if maybe they would want to examine his eye to make sure it is not infected or anything. If your doggy develops a thick, cheesy drainage in that eye you definitely have an infection. Again, check with your vet to be safe and call the groomers to see what products they used. Poor fella, I hope he gets better soon!
