| J.J.'s stool We just got JJ last week and her stool has been really wet looking. Could this be to her adjusting to different dog food. We don't use wet food we use solid food. Thanks!

JJ is four yrs old. We didn't get her as a puppy, the breeder sold her because the past few times she was pregnant she lost her pups and she didn't want to put her through that. I'm not sure what food she was on but now we buy just Ol' Roy Complete Nutrition. We have only had her a week. Her poop is really wet and almost leaves a mark on the carpet if she has an accident on the carpet. We have to scrub to get it up.

| please don't take this the wrong way, but it might be the food you are feeding. Ol'Roy is not a great food and chances are she was on a higher quality food and this is her body's way of reacting to this change. You should contact the breeder and find out what she was eating or switch her to a high quality food if possible. Something like Wellness or Solid Gold, Merrick, Chicken Soup.. theses are all great foods. If the diarrhea continues too much longer you might want to take her to the vet and make sure she hasn't gotten dehydrated. Good luck |

I didn't take it the wrong way, I am glad you made some suggestions for her. I don't think the breeder bought the greatest food, probably nothing better than we feed her. I didn't know what food to get Tilly when we first got her and hubby said get this, probably because it's cheap. LOL Are those the brands or the types of food? Also, where can I purchase these? Would like Wal-Mart have them? Thanks!!!

Thank you for all of the information! The girls don't eat tons so it really won't cost very much. It seems like a bag of dog food lasts forever. I will def. have to check out that website to see if there are any stores around here that sell it.

If Petsmart-ish stores are your only option, you could try Royal Canin. If you have a quality pet store or a feed store (they usually sell quality pet foods) then try Canidae, Merricks, Eagle Pack, California Natural or something of that nature. This website analyzes dog foods and it is a great place to learn: http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_f...iews/index.php

| virus Your other yorkie can get it IF there is contact with oral to feces. That's why when JJ has an accident in the house, after you clean it, use a dissinfectent until you know for sure what it is. Like everyone else has said it could definitely be the food, but just in case, have his stool checked |

| When I first got Luigi (he is 3 months), his stool was perfectly fine. But he was eating wet food with his breeder, and when I was making the switch to dry food..he ended up getting diarrhea for a couple days. I got concerned and took him to the vet. Turns out the change in diet caused it, but he also ended up having hookworms (problems like worms can also cause diarrhea too). The vet ended up giving me some anti-diarrheal medication for Luigi and also told me to feed just plain white rice and boiled chicken (the white meat part only and no skin). This bland type of diet helps to harden the stool. His stool is all back to normal now, and so we're just trying to take care of the hookworms (got medication for that too, so hopefully they're all gone now!) So I suggest just taking him to the vet just to make sure he doesn't have anything. They can do fecal testing to check for worms. If he turns out okay, then the change in diet probably did it. Good luck!

| We find our girls Natural Balance from Petco. It is 8.00 a bag, but lasts awhile. We feed both dry and wet food.
