Hannah gets spayed tomorrow, I'm scared I am so scared for Hannah, and I am so upset about her having to stay overnight. She is supposed to be there at 0900 tomorrow and she will have to stay until the next morning.....  . What should I expect? Should I have some onesis? I don't want her there so scared and alone, the vet told me that she would be on good drugs and she wouldn't know what was going on. I am going to try to talk them into letting me take her home that evening....any suggestions...   |
Awww!! I can only imagine how scared you are :( I just wanted to say that we will be thinking about little Hannah tomorrow and we will be saying a prayer for her! Good thoughts are headed her way! BIG HUGS to that little sweetie! :) |

She'll be okay! I know it's really scary, but we'll all be praying for her :) Make sure she doesn't try to chew her stitches or anything like that. Do they have someone that stays all night at the vet's office? If not, then they should let you bring her home that evening :) |

I can understand your concern...you hate to leave your baby overnight. Maybe he'll let you take her home if she does real well. Good Luck, Hanna Sweetheart! Sending a quick prayer for you AND Mama! XOXO |
If they're doing the surgery at 9am, I don't see why they wouldn't let you bring her home in the evening, but every vet's office is different. Make sure you take her favorite blankie for her to lay on after the surgery so that she can smell something familiar. |

I just had my girls spayed this past thursday. I dropped my girls off at 8:30 and picked them up at 3. They got a pain shot and just curled up to me the whole night. I had the vet use disovable stitches and my girls havent bugged their stitches at all. I did ask for pain pills for after also and with hesitation they did give them to me which I did use just to be sure they were comfortable. I see no reason for them to stay overnight, especially when theyre alone. I personally would never leave them but thats just the way I am;) |
spay is a very routine surgery the vets do it daily the pets are sore but they will be fine |
Where are you in Ky? I am in Augusta, on the Ohio River. Zoey goes in to be fixed next Tuesday the 15. |
You and your little Hannah are in my prayers today. My vet let Kalani come home after his surgery so I'm not familiar with the reasoning of keeping them overnight. I would call throughout the day and pester the heck out of them and insist that if she is doing well that you want to take her home tonight and promise to bring her back tomorrow morning for a re-check. |

I just dropped Hannah off. They will call me if anything is abnormal with her blood work and I can call anytime to check on her. They said that I can come and see her and the best time would be around 5:00 so its not too busy and I can go into a room with her. I do have to leave her overnight, but the vets will be there until 8:00 or 9:00 and then one of them comes back to check on them around 11:00 or 12:00, that is if she is doing ok, if she is not doing ok one of them will stay. PLEASE say a prayer for Hannah, that she will get through surgery ok, that her blood work will be ok, and that she wont be scared and that her recovery will be fast. Thanks. |
Sassy and I are praying for Hannah let us no when she is out of surgery |
Prayer's coming for Hannah that everything goes well. I'm sure she'll be fine and home before you know it. I hope the times goes by fast for both of you. |
I just talked to the vet tech and she said that Hannah is out of surgery and starting to wake up. Everything went good and her lab work was all ok too. Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers during this very stressful and scarey time for Hannah and me. |
Yeah!! I knew she would do just fine :) |

I have a question....I bought some onesies (NB size, they didn't have preemie), anyway, do I cut out a place for her to potty. Has anyone used them to cover the incision? I appreciate any help, suggestions, or pictures. |
Good girl, Hannah!! Feel better soon and tell Mommy she has to buy you a new toy 'cause you have a boo boo!! |
Im glad to hear that Hannah is doing okay. Youll be surprised how fast she will bounce back to normal ;) |
We used NB onesies for our girl when she was spayed and did not cut out a potty hole. We just unsnapped the bottom whenever we let her out to potty and we stayed with her to make sure she didn't bite on the stitches. She peed once in the onsie, but it was no big deal because the pack had 5 onesies in it, so we just changed it. Unfortunately, she figured out a way to wriggle out of them through the neck, during the night, and we had to put a cone on her at the vet's insistence anyway. |
So glad that she's doing ok ;) |

Thanks for all your replies. I went to visit her at 5:00 and she was doing good, but very drowsy. When I left her I told them to be sure to fold down the edges of her napsak and make a hole for her to lay in because that is how she likes it-they made fun of me.... |
