Does anyone still feed Royal Canine? i still have skoshi on the mini puppy it hasnt been recalled. does anyone still have theirs on one |
I had mine on Mini Puppy 33 and switched her to Nature's Variety. The recall scared me, and RC isn't really that great of a food to begin with. I'm paying the same price for a MUCH better food now. |
im not sure what to do i can take it back anytime but im just worried! and then there are so many opinions that differ about which brand to switch to |

I am using the RC which was recommended by the breeder and she has always used it with her 5 yorkies with no problem!!! I say if its not broken don't fix it!!! :) How much is everyone paying for a bag?? I pay about$9.00 for a bag of the mini |

We feed the RC Yorkshire Terrier type. It is the only food that we have found that our little girl will eat, in nearly six years. She loves it. I notice that most of you are feeding the mini. Does anyone use the Yorkshire Terrier? Why or why not?:aimeeyork |
I was feeding all 3 of mine Sensible Choice Natural Blend by RC but when the recall of their other products came out I stopped and switched to Solid Gold. I am just afraid that any company that had had a recall may not really know the full extent or cause of the contamination. |
We switched both Wrigley and Crosley from Royal Canine to Merrick. They have been wonderful on the phone with all of our questions regarding all the recalls and the dogs love the food! |
I was feeding the puppy mini 33 but am afraid of the recalls. We have always fed our adult dogs Nature's Select www.delivermypetfood.com and love it. all of their ingredients are from the US and I just feel really good about the ingredient list. They all love it. I was hoping to keep Maggie on RC and graduate her to the yorkie formula because they concentrate on things that are specific for yorkie needs like size, shape, and texture as well as things that are good for yorkie hair, etc. but honestly, I think the food we have our other dogs on is just fine. and she loves it. she won't eat the puppy formula but loves the adult formula and I was instructed to just feed her more of it in order to ensure that she gets enough protein and stuff. |

Tia is still on RC mini puppy. We chose to stay on it because it's not on the recall list and Tia loves it. No problems here! |
I'm still feeding both of mine Royal Canin. Its what they both liked, and the last food I was giving Adonis, seemed to make him throw up once in a while. |
We've switched I had been feeding my babies RC for 6 years now, but now I have switched to the Embark blend by The Honest Kitchen. I didn't switch because of the recalls, I switched because my Kylie Girl has allergies and minor skin problems and this is an all natural dehydrated food and it's good for all life stages, I feed it to 6 month old Max also. They all love it. It is kinda pricey, $40.00 for a 4lb. bag, which makes 17 lbs. of food; but I think it's worth it, the ingredients are below: Embark Hormone-free turkey, organic flaxseed, potatoes, celery, spinach, carrots, coconut, apples, organic kelp, eggs, sesame seeds, bananas, cranberries and rosemary. Life Stage: All life stages; puppies, pregnancy, lactation, active adult dogs |
Since the Yorkshire Terrior food wasn't recalled, Rocky still eats it but he is getting switched onto something else. |

I switched mine off RC because of some of the ingredients. When my mom questioned the use of some ingredients on their message boards they deleted the post. Someone else reposted the same questions and asked RC to answer the question instead of deleting it. The thread was again deleted. Their message boards have since been shut down. I just don't trust them with the health of my babies. |

Still on Rc Shelby & Seymour still eat RC Yorkshire. They like it although I sometimes think about making a change. We have purchased Merricks before, but they pick out the veges and fruit and don't seem to want the dry food. Silly little dogs! I guess that I will continue to do some research and until then, RC it is. PLEASE keep the info coming when you hear of any recalls..... & I will do the same. It is so sad that we have to worry and continue to have to keep up on the recalls.... I hope that the manufacturers of these dog foods get some strict regulations slapped on them...... making them responsible to KNOW what they are putting in the food. ( I am sure there are tests that they can do) |

Did I miss something??????? Just a little confused, I donīt remember reading royal canine as one of the foods being recalled. Iīm givin my baby royal cannine for puppies. Someone please enlighten me. On where it said royal canine thanks. |
I stopped becauseone recall at theirplant was one too many you never know what can get mixed in where. |
I also feed all mine rc yorkshire, and have had no problems with it and they love it, but it is a bit expencive 17.99 for 4 pds.:rolleyes: |

Switched from RC to Canidae Both of my yorkies have been eating Yorkshire Terrier by RC. In the middle of April I changed to Canidae. Both girls liked the RC but once some of their food was recalled I did not feel comfortable with anything made in the same plant. I switched to Canidae cold turkey. I did not try to ease them on to it slowly. Both girls love it. I studied the ingredients and am concerned about paying $l6.95 for a bag that has so corn and grains, etc. Alyssa has a lot of allergies and was scratching and biting her fur. Once I switched to Canidae she stopped scratching...her fur became much more healthy, and she had more energy than ever. The price of a bag of Canidae here is less than $10. I am very pleased to have made the change and feel that my girls are getting a much better food. |
