Nature's Variety Does anyone feed this? i see it in the store where i buy morgan's canidae and i was thinking of trying it out. I have a sample bag of the dry kibble that i got in the mail but haven't tried it out yet. i like the raw idea without actually having to go out and buy gross bones and meat products. |
Yes, we feed our boyz Nature's Variety, the raw frozen medallions and they love it. They also like the dry food but I don't use it very much. |

Before we started NV we fed Innova or California Natural, I also tried Merrick's but didn't like the results. I put my boyz on it mainly because I 'thought' Jo had food allergies but he doesn't. I have noticed their teeth are cleaner and bright white, no bad breath and they seem to be a bit more active, they've always had shiny coats but it does seem that Jo's has started growing a bit faster now. They never had any issues when I switched them over, no upset stomach or anything. Jo has gained a little weight with the raw so I cut his portion back some but Riley hasn't gained anything. I like the idea of feeding raw but not the way some feed raw...NV is easy to use and if I ever stop using it I will probably make their food myself. |

We just very recently switched ours from Canidae to Nature's Variety. Both of these foods are great, but have found NV to be a little better (in regards to their ingredients). There is a website that you can actually grade pet food. When my hubby and I tested these two foods, Canidae scored 112 and NV scored 129. Both scored above 100% so that's great!!! Since switching foods, the tear stains with our Maltese mix are now gone. You really can't go wrong with either food, though. Tammy |

We tried the Nature's variety frozen, and Chloe liked it, but the thing with her is she doesn't want to eat all her food all at once. She wants to let it set, nibble, let it set, nibble, etc. As hot as it is here, and as many flies as we get in this area (nearby dairies) it just isn't the ideal way for us to go. I really just did not like feeding her this way. But I believe it is a great food, and is good for those dogs who will eat it up in a few minutes and be done with it. |
