Nature's Variety Does anyone feed this? i see it in the store where i buy morgan's canidae and i was thinking of trying it out. I have a sample bag of the dry kibble that i got in the mail but haven't tried it out yet. i like the raw idea without actually having to go out and buy gross bones and meat products. |
Yes, we feed our boyz Nature's Variety, the raw frozen medallions and they love it. They also like the dry food but I don't use it very much. |

Before we started NV we fed Innova or California Natural, I also tried Merrick's but didn't like the results. I put my boyz on it mainly because I 'thought' Jo had food allergies but he doesn't. I have noticed their teeth are cleaner and bright white, no bad breath and they seem to be a bit more active, they've always had shiny coats but it does seem that Jo's has started growing a bit faster now. They never had any issues when I switched them over, no upset stomach or anything. Jo has gained a little weight with the raw so I cut his portion back some but Riley hasn't gained anything. I like the idea of feeding raw but not the way some feed raw...NV is easy to use and if I ever stop using it I will probably make their food myself. |

We just very recently switched ours from Canidae to Nature's Variety. Both of these foods are great, but have found NV to be a little better (in regards to their ingredients). There is a website that you can actually grade pet food. When my hubby and I tested these two foods, Canidae scored 112 and NV scored 129. Both scored above 100% so that's great!!! Since switching foods, the tear stains with our Maltese mix are now gone. You really can't go wrong with either food, though. Tammy |

We tried the Nature's variety frozen, and Chloe liked it, but the thing with her is she doesn't want to eat all her food all at once. She wants to let it set, nibble, let it set, nibble, etc. As hot as it is here, and as many flies as we get in this area (nearby dairies) it just isn't the ideal way for us to go. I really just did not like feeding her this way. But I believe it is a great food, and is good for those dogs who will eat it up in a few minutes and be done with it. |

I'm so glad I've found a food that they both love and it's good for them. We always had trouble with the dry food before...it worked for one but not the other for some reason but this one works for both of them in both the frozen and dry forms. |
Roxy and TJ are on NV. We went thru one bag of Rabbit (they loved it) now we are on Vension (they love it). I also feed them 1/2 Sardine, 2-3 Steamed Green Beans, and about 5 to 10 pieces of Canidae dry. I switched to NV (i was cooking for them) b/c I have everyday poop eaters. Since switching to NV, I wish I could say it stopped them from eating poop, but it hasn't :( When they do poop, it is very small like everyone said it would be, BUT, they can poop 3 to 5 times a day (each), it is just some small rabbit terds, but they go more times now :( I just order from: www.thehonestkitchen.com Small Double Packs (4 lbs each, Verve & Force...$55.00) I figured it out that the above will last about 64 days. And to feed 2 Yorkies 2 times a day will cost $1.00 ($0.25 a meal - IMO - not bad :) ) They have a page of food comparisons and they show NV... Here is the link: http://www.thehonestkitchen.com/prod...mparison.shtml Anyway, I should have it by next week and I will try this out and then decide if I will continue or go back to NV or even start to cook for them again  |

I use NV too. Dry kibble in the morning and usually the raw in the evening. Well, actually, I'm mixing the kibbles with Merricks. I started off on just the NV and got a really good deal on Merricks, so that's why I started mixing. |
I got a sample of the NV this weekend.. and I bought him a bag of Nutro (that is what he eats) But after he INHALED the dry- Raw Instincts..I'm returning the Nuto for NV. he loved it and it had better ingredients. |
