				 | How do I know if my puppy's eating enough? Sometimes my puppy will eat and sometimes not. He's 9 wks old, 1 lb. 5 oz. and I've had him 3 days. Breeder said to feed him 4 times a day but he will only eat two times. Vet said not to let him lose any weight, so I want to be sure he's getting what he needs. |

				 | The way that we started with Maci when she was just a little puppy is we would leave dry food down for her all day long. She would eat periodically throughout the day. Then we would add some wet food around lunch and dinner time. In fact, we still leave dry food down for her all day long now as well. We have found though that she still eats around the same time everyday anyways even with the food left down all day. As long as your puppy continues to eat each day you shouldn't have any problems at all. He knows when he's hungry and when he's not!

				 | Annie was the same way but she was only 13 oz and I was nervous all the time. To make me feel better I started giving her a teaspoon of egg in the morning and a teaspoon of Merricks Puppy Plate at night and give her dry in between. It worked well for us, she gained weight, and I wasn't so panicky all of the time Kasey & Annie |

				 | Harley was 8 weeks when i got him and i pretty much went by the suggested amount on the back of the bag and split into 3 meals for a couple weeks, then started to feed only twice a day. We had no problems with that.
