| Chato is very sick please read.I need support !! Hello ladies, My 3 month old baby is in the hospital. His mouth was opened half and he was drooling like crazy. He was crying and could not stay still. He was completely unresponsive as well. They gave him IV fluids and valium. They will perform some blood work. Unfortunatelly I could not afford all the tests required. They were over 1000 dls. TOmorrow I will take him to another vet and let him decide what is wrong with him. I called the breeder today she told me that she was underweight. Chato is 2.6 lbs so I do not know! I do not know what is wrong with him. I have searched the house for something that he could have ingested but nothing seems threatening. I am not sure what to do he is the happiness of my life and I am just devastated. PLease let me know what you think this can be? |

| I'm so sorry to read about Chato... How scary... I don't know what it could have been. I hope he recovers quickly. Some doctors will extend credit so don't be afraid to ask for one if you need help with his bills.

| So sorry to hear about Chato's problems. Did you read the other post about a 5 wk. old that was drooling and staggering around? A responder told her it sounded like low blood sugar and told her to rub Karo syrup on its gums. I don't have any ideas myself, but I know these tiny dogs can go "sour" really quick. I'm sure they will find low blood sugar with a blood test if that is the problem. Best of luck to both of you and will be praying for you. |

| Goodmorning......So sorry to hear of your sadness. I remember when my baby was brought home at 8 weekd, she only weighed 1.7 pds. She would not eat the chow they had her on, even if I moistened it, so I use to cook hamburger/hotdogs and I added sugar to her water just to get her going. Try giving her sugar water, just a little & see if it helps. I am praying for you, her and your family......God Bless you.... Keep us posted!!!!!!!!!! |

| I am so sorry to hear Chato is sick. I have no clue what it could be. By the drooling sounds like a possibility of seizures or hypoglycemia. I pray he gets better soon!!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Awwwww......GOOD LUCK and try working a payment plan out with the vets - some are really great about it - also there is a site you can TRY to get financial aid from - www.imom.org - and all the best to you !!! Please keep us updated on your little guy....I'm no expert but it sounds like he was in pain and that could be liver shunt if he's losing weight and unresponsive....this is serious but treatable - GOOD Luck |

| So sorry to hear this. Hope they find out what's wrong and can help him. Could he have gotten some medicine that was inadvertantly dropped?

| Chato has liver shunt thank you all for your great support. Unfortunatelly Chato has been diagnosed with Liver Shunt. Still we are waiting for the confirmatory test but vet is 99% sure that he has PPS. I am so sad. Seems that the only option for him is surgery. Since medically treated wont be satisfactory. I will let you know how it goes. I am planning to take him to Knoxville KY to perform the surgery. I still do not know . I would need some financial aid. I will see if they can give me some playment plan. I refuse to put him down. |
