Poor Jack-a-roo (aka Houdini). We hope you're ok. And there's nothing the matter with you that some antibiotics or training won't fix. Love and kisses D&D |
I took him to the vet today, but the vet couldn't do any tests because Jack didn't have to pee. I didn't want to leave him there, so I've either got to follow him around with a ladle and a jar and try to collect a sample myself or bring him in again before he pees. And, NO, there will be no vids or pictures of me chasing a 4-pound Yorkie around trying to collect a pee sample with a ladle. |
Poor Jack. You are going to make him pretty nervous when you are following him around with that laddle. Oh please can't we see a vid of it. |

An update: It took me a week of following Jack around the yard with ladles and cups and bowls, but I finally got a urine sample from him. The good news is, the test came back negative for infections. The bad news is they found crystals in his urine. I guess it's an old-dog thing. He's 11. The danger is the crystals could turn into a stone and he won't be able to pass them because they can be huge. Surgery would be the only option. I'm a little fuzzy on whether this is what's causing him to pee in the house all of the sudden, but the doctor put him on a prescription diet designed to get rid of the crystals in his urine. It's a PH thing, they need to change his acid content. Anyway, I'll keep you posted if it works. |
We hope the new diet helps wee Jack feel better soon. |
