Ludo is 11 weeks old. We don't free feed him and he poops 2-3 times a day. |
Feeding twice a day is recommended. I believe it helps them regulate their blood sugar, which is important for little dogs. Humans eat multiple times a day, so imagine cramming that all in at once! As a general rule, dogs should poop once for every time they eat. I think puppies are a little different (going more than that is normal), and I wouldn't worry until the dog is a year of age or older. At about a year of age if the dog is still pooping more than 2-3 times a day I'd consider changing foods. Not all dogs will do well on any high quality food, so despite the fact you're feeding an excellent food, it may just not be right for her. Like I said, I wouldn't worry until she's about a year of age. |
Thanks for all your input. I change her diet a bit. I gave her raw food in the morning (half medallion) in the morning. She loves it. For dinner she still eats the same. It seems work well for us. She potty twice or three times max a day. Probably coincidence because she is going to be adult soon ? But her potty times are just more reasonable. In the morning, after dinner and before going to bed. There is also an interesting discussion about raw food at YT. We got samples from Nature Variety from nearby petstore. http://www.naturesvariety.com/conten...287CHnpQ88785C |
