Poops and feeds. How many times ? I am curious, how many times did your pup poops and eat ? Do you mind to share ? Mine eats Canidae mixed with a spoon of merrick or sprinkled of dry liver. She eats total about 1/2 to 2/3 cup dry kibbles twice a day but poops almost 4 times a day. I just can't believe this. She is 7 months and 4.5 lbs. At what age do you think she will poop only twice a day ? Do you mind to share or give an idea to reduce numbers of poop ? |
Wesley is 11.5 pounds. Maddie is 6.5 pounds. They both free feed on Canidae. Maddie is more of a snacker than Wesley. She is always taking a bite here and there. Wes prefers to eat more less times. Wes poops 2 times a day. Maddie poops 4 or 5 times a day. |
Bobbi is almost 4lbs and 6.5 months old. He is free fed Canidae all life stages mixed with Life's Abundance all life stages. I feed 1 tablespoon unsalted cottage cheese mixed with 1 teaspoon missing link and a fish oil capsule each morning. He poops about 15 minutes after eating his cottage cheese and supplement. He eats about 4-5 times a day whenever he feels like it.........he is an excellent eater and have never had eating issues with him........my best guess is that he eats about 3/4 cup a day. (Can't tell for sure because the poodle is free fed the same food). :) He poops again around 5 pm in the evening. |
My Bunny is 1yr 11 months and 7lbs and My Bella is 1 yr and 3lb and there both free fred Sci diet and they both Poop Twice a day. Once in the morning when I get up and once when there daddy takes them out for there walk, right before bed...Its like clock work lol. |
I do not no why mine poops so much. I see nothing wrong with her diet but in my opinion at least 4 times ar a bit too much. Do you think probably she is too young ? The poops are firm but just don't understand. |

Chloe used to poop several times a day. She is now about 5 months old and she poops once, sometimes twice a day, but that is it. |
Harvey Eats Ceaser Refined, Mixed With Small Bite Mixer, He Eats Between 4-6 Pm (never Wants Much Before Then) But Will Sometimes Eat Some Toasted Bread In A Morning. He Then May Want Some More At About 9 Pm - Small Amount Given Then. He Only Eats It Warmed, And I Have Tried All Sorts Of Different Foods At Different Times Etc. I Leave Semi-dried Morsels Out All The While, And He Picks At Them Now And Then. He Eats Grapes, Pears, Apples And Apricots - Though Only Once In A While. He Drinks Water. He Poops First Thing In A Morning At About 8 Am - Then Usually Between 7-9 Pm Also. Just The Two Times. Good Luck. |

I Think Only If You Give Them Too Many - My Other Yorkie That I Had For 14 Years Used To Eat Lots Of Grapes, And He Was Always Ok With Them. Harvey Only Has Them Once In A While Though. |

Grapes are supposed to be toxic to dogs...raisins too. Please be careful. :) |
Anyone here feed their dog once a day ? |
Banjo is now 5 and a half months. I have just started to feed him now twice a day instead of 3 times a day. He is a big boy at 10lb. Not overweight just tall and bigger. He gets half a cup at breakfast and half a cup at 4.30. course there are treats in between depending if hes been a good boy. He loves celery and sweet potato. Twice a day feeds he seems fine on. He didnt seem to miss the noon time feed. He now poops less too. Twice sometimes 3 times a day. |
I feed my adult dogs once a day. |

After about a year to 18 months old. I feed them in the morning. |
Ludo is 11 weeks old. We don't free feed him and he poops 2-3 times a day. |
Feeding twice a day is recommended. I believe it helps them regulate their blood sugar, which is important for little dogs. Humans eat multiple times a day, so imagine cramming that all in at once! As a general rule, dogs should poop once for every time they eat. I think puppies are a little different (going more than that is normal), and I wouldn't worry until the dog is a year of age or older. At about a year of age if the dog is still pooping more than 2-3 times a day I'd consider changing foods. Not all dogs will do well on any high quality food, so despite the fact you're feeding an excellent food, it may just not be right for her. Like I said, I wouldn't worry until she's about a year of age. |
Thanks for all your input. I change her diet a bit. I gave her raw food in the morning (half medallion) in the morning. She loves it. For dinner she still eats the same. It seems work well for us. She potty twice or three times max a day. Probably coincidence because she is going to be adult soon ? But her potty times are just more reasonable. In the morning, after dinner and before going to bed. There is also an interesting discussion about raw food at YT. We got samples from Nature Variety from nearby petstore. http://www.naturesvariety.com/conten...287CHnpQ88785C |
