Do they sell small breed kibble? Cant find info.

I feed both of mine the all life stages and the kibble is quite small. It is about the same size as chicken noddle soup for the puppy lovers soul and much smaller than Nutro. I don't know if they have any other kibble that is smaller but their all life stages, I'd say at the biggest is about half the size of a dime .

All the kibbles are very small, so need for a small sized variation of the kibble. :) I think even some of the smallest dogs could eat their all life stages kibble.

I feed Canidae all stages..It is a small kibble..I didn't think they sold a bigger kibble....

Canidae is great. You won't find it at Petsmart because they only sell to independent stores - they won't sell to the chains. Canidae isn't super trendy like Innova so it's more affordable. A 5lb bag is about $8 around here... and it lasts like 6 weeks. Longer if you have a smaller dog obviously (Loki is 10 lbs).

I recently switched my two to Canidae All Life stages, but before I bought it I emailed them to ask about the kibble size. They replied that it was OK for small breeds and the kibble was about the size of a pea.

I've been using it about a week now, and no problems so far.

I just recently put all four of my dogs onto Canidae, and even my HUGE Labrador is crunching up the Tiny kibble... And my 3lb yorkie is crunching on it too! They all scarf it down! The first few days I was afraid I was going to have to stop free feeding my little ones, they were eating so much!!! But on day three they got over the crazyness... and they are eating normal now...

They love the stuff, and My Crested's poops are soooo much firmer!!! THANK GOD!:thumbup: THANK YOU CINDY!!!

Is this enough nutrition for an old Yorkie? Ive been feeding mine Nutro for Seniors with Glucosomine for her joints. I want to get something for both my Yorkies when my puppy comes off puppy food.

You can go to the Canide website and they will send you free samples. I asked and they emailed back and said YES so we got 4 bags and Grayson loved them now we just need to purchase more!!

Okay, I just went to the website and there are many testimonials. One in particular commented they had the same problem I am having. I have to feed both my puppy and senior separate and the puppy loves the senior food.
The lady bought Canidae and it solved her problem.

THere are some unreal photos of dogs before and after also. Some dogs look like they are on death's door and after eating Canidae, you got to see these pictures. Can this be true or hype?

Well Loki had diarrhea most of his puppyhood until he was like 10 months old when I put him on the Canidae. He hasn't have it since, and he's 2. So yeah, I think it's possible.

This is what I've been wondering too. I avoided buying it because the all life stages thing has me worried. I think puppies need more calcium than adult dogs.

Unfortunately, they didn't have any sample bags at the store I visited yesterday.

They also have senior brand..I think it's called Canidae Silver..Not sure of the name but the bag is silver.

we just switched to canidae. chrissy our groomer said it was good for eye boogers. she was right. romeo has no problem with the size. he gobbles it up.

I did not know this, thanks! I just want something my puppy and senior will eat. Right now, its a problem picking up the senior bowl up and down everytime the puppy is let loose.

Thank you. I got a list of all TWO of the sellers in our area. I need to try this out. I found out the senior (premium) stage they sell seems tailored towards overweight older dogs. My 13 yr old certainly doesnt need to loose any weight in her golden years.

My puppy had been coughing sooo much but recently her coughing has subsided the past few days.

I just started chester to timberwolf from the solid gold wee bit and he loves it and all the timberwolf is rated high just like the innova and the canidaie kibble is pretty small

I switched to canidae from Nutro. I noticed that she scracthes less and has less eye boogers. I believe canidae is quite a good food and yet not expensive. For those who want to try. Call their office and they will send 2 packs free for you to try and $2 coupon.

I finally found a distributor for Canidae. Some things one may note is since Canidae dry food has no preservatives, the food is only good for two weeks after opening it.

I got a sample of dry and bought 3 cans of all stages for my dogs. My oldest has not touched the canned yet.

Also, you can buy a small bag of the dry food and freeze it I was told. There is no way my two Yorks will go through a 5.5 lb bag in two weeks.

Any comments from Canidae food users?

Did Canidae tell you that??? It does have a preservative - Vitamin E - which is a natural preservative. I transfer what fits into a small air tight container on my counter and put the rest in the fridge (or garage this time of year) but at least 3-4 weeks worth fits on in the container. On the bag it simply says "Store in a cool, dry place" I don't believe it's only good for 2 weeks.

I do not believe it either. They would not sell the food in large quantitites if it was only good for 2 weeks. Opening should really not affect the shelf life anyway since the bags are not air tight. Natural preservatives do not last as long as the chemicals. There are trade offs for trying to be more natural. Still, most dry has a shel life of at least a year and the natural should only be a few months shorter according to this site: http://www.peteducation.com/article....articleid=2804

I do not know the truth but from my experience the kibbles become stale and not that crunchy unless if you transfer to a air tight container. This usually happen after 4 weeks.

They do not have a small breed, but the kibble is small. That is such a great food one of my dogs are on the Lamb and Rice. Not to be gross but scooping poop has been easier also. Good luck

Hello, again I know that it will last longer than 2 weeks I work at a pet food store and we tell everyone to make sure that you either store it in a air tight container or make sure you roll up the bag really tight. All premium foods do not have preservative other than vitamin E & C and sometime they use rosemary. I store mine in a cereal container. And it seems to stay fresh for about 6 weeks, you can smell it when it goes bad.

I went to Canidae.com & wrote them for free samples. They sent me to the nearest store in my area that had free samples. Even sent the store owners name ect. I went there & they gave me enough for all my dogs, they had 3 different types. They didn't really care for it. So I'm still looking for the brand they wil eat.
