The reason I try to keep Chynna out of it is not due to age its due to the concentration I feed the older dogs.. she is not used to it and it will upset her tummy in larger amounts.. but she gets it in smaller amounts.. soon she can eat it with everyone else... I would Just cut the dose down, I was feeding it at my vets recommendation when Paris was little... Pixie I did not start till she was a little older because I did not know much about it, but she was nowhere near a year... And my lab... His breeder has them all on it from day one... it was mixed in their feed. If I were you... I would start them at about 4 months old, and start with the original formula, then when that lab gets to be about 1 switch to the plus... Their joints take a beating! They are so rough on them! There was a time when Charlie could not jump into the car by himself! I had to LIFT him. But now if you open the back hatch, he flies right in! Its the joint support in the Missing Link! Thank God! At 6 years old.. he is far too young to be an Old Man! K |
And four months old used to sound old to me... but its only 16 weeks old! lol Most puppies don't even go home till 12 weeks.. So that gives you plenty of time to order it online! lol But like I said... Charlie was weaned onto food that contained the Missing link. So Its NOT going to hurt anyone... Some people just fear giving anything to tiny pups... Its a personal thing... ;) I gave it! Paris was itty! She loved it! |
It's 1 teaspoon for up to 20lbs Bobbi has been on it since he was 12 weeks.................hasn't hurt him at all. |
i say nay i had all 3 of my boys on it it made kaykos stomach to upset he got sick brownie skin was so itchy he was making himself bleed austins still on it only til the bag is finished i dont see any difference in his coat |
After reading all the good reviews I've decided to give it a try w/ Yuki and Gracie (lab/rot mix). Tonight is the first night they have tried it. Yuki gobbled her food up right away, but Gracie is a picky eater and it took her a good hour or two to get near her food. I really hope this works because Yuki's hair is really cotton-y and matts easily. Gracie sheds and itches a lot, and has dandruff. I hope it helps!!!:D |

I have used it on my boy since I got him at 12 weeks.........look at his coat coming in (he has no oil, sheen or gloss on)............definitely a keeper in our household. Also, the poodle and cat's coat don't lie...... |
at www.24hourpet.com, they sell vegetable missing link, avian, equine, etc.... lots of choices and the prices are pretty decent. |
Tips on Getting them to eat it?? Any tips on getting them to eat it? Lexus had it in her food for a week or so then refused to eat her food any longer so we stopped putting ML in her food and she started eating again. For the last month we've been adding it to a tablespoon of cottage cheese, now she's decided she doesn't like that either anymore? Any other tips on getting her to eat it. When she did eat it she never got sick. We've kept her at 1/2 teaspoon though as she's only 4lbs. Thanks. |
did you start out with just a tiny bit at a time? how about putting it on some food she can't resist, if she's onto the cottage cheese. maybe just a teaspoon of soft food, or meat or something? |

Maybe I'll try that Caesar's stuff everyone talks about. She's never been given soft food yet since we had no reason to give it to her, she loves her kibble. I'll try that this weekend, I guess a tablespoon of Caesar's mixed with the ML might work. |
