greenies treats hi everyone, have you guys tried greenies treats? i havent but i ran across this in my coupon booklet from the newspaper. you can go to www.greenies.com and request a free treat for those of us who havent tried greenies. have a great day everyone |
Ive heard alot Of bad things about Yorkies and Greenies they dont digest them, i only give my baby organic treats. |
Dont give your dog greenies. They are undigestable and dogs have died from eating them. We have a member on here Denise whose dog died after eating a greenie. Flossies and bully sticks are good for dogs to chew on because they are digestable |
[QUOTE=Elisandra]Of bad things about Yorkies and Greenies they dont digest them, i only give my baby organic treats.[/QUOTE Oh my, even the new greenies???? I thought they had made them so that they now disolve...........haven't tried to do that but if they disolve I would think they would digest easier. I know there was a problem with the old greenies.........just curious which you are talking about. I don't want to lose either of my babies!!!! |
No Greenies Please.... !!! !! Dont Take That Chance.....please!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!! Free Or Not |

The new ones are supposedly digestable now. I know they are much softer than the others were. I will wait to hear if any more bad stories come out of the new product. omega |
Everyone is right. Greenies are dangerous http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/02/14/dan...eat/index.html Rawhides are also dangerous http://www.dogsadversereactions.com/warning2.html |
What about the Nutri Dent Dental brushes, edible kind? I got a free sample at Petsmart and Howie loved it, but is it dangerous for him?? |
Nutri Dent You can read a couple of posts about NutriDent at: http://www.beloblog.com/KHOU_Animal_...es_manura.html |

PLEASE PLEASE!! Do NOT feed Greenies to your dogs. I lost my Chihuahua Chili on Dec 1st because a piece of Greenie got lodged in her esophagus. Turns out Chili also had a birth defect in her esophagus creating an expanded area. After going to the Emergency Clinic they told me the barium they used for the x-rays shows that there wasn't a complete obstruction. I went to my Vet the following day and he redid the same X-rays. He gave me some medication for me to inject. One being Regulan and one an antibiotic and a muscle relaxer. The Vet said if she was eating and drinking okay then we shouldn't worry. She got better as soon as I gave her the first shot. She was eating normally again and even running around, so I was no longer worried. Exactly a week later the Greenie got dislodged from the enlarged area of her esophagus and choked her to death as I was holding her trying to do everything possible for her. She had just been standing there and dropped over on her side. By the time I got to her, mer seconds later her entire upper body had gone limp. The Vet told me that the new formula of Greenies which I had been using are only 4 % more digestible than the old formula. I guess Chili lived the last week of her life on borrowed time. She would have died instantly if she didn't have the birth defect. |

Are dingo stix good for them? |
I visited the Dingo website and checked the ingredients in their "Dingo Munchy Stix": Guaranteed Analysis: Rawhide, real chicken breast, water, flavorings, artificial coloring, dextrose (sugar), sodium chloride (salt), dipped in potassium sorbate (a preservative). |

Desert Dogs - that is so sad...I can't imagine going through that with my Monty. We are so sorry for the loss of your Chili. |
I just hope our tragedy will prevent others. I was not feeding Greenies to any of my dogs. I have a friend who's dog had a bowel obstruction from the old formula. Luckily his dog survived but after a very costly surgery. After I adopted Chili her teeth were really bad so I had them cleaned. The Vet recommended she have a Greenie a day to keep her teeth clean. So following the Vet's instruction cost me my baby. I only had Chili for a little under 3 months. |
rawhides and greenies made cooper throw up |

Are they called flossies or bully sticks or is that the brand? I have a lot of sample greenines from a pet show and was going to give them to Izzy but he\'s too young and too small for them. I guess I will not give them to him at all...bummer because I have a lot of them.:( |
