National poison control Center Cigarettes and cigarette butts, cigars, pipe tobacco, nicotine patches, nicotine gum and chewing tobacco can be fatal to dogs if ingested. Signs of nicotine poisoning can appear within an hour and include hyperactivity, salivation, panting, vomiting and diarrhea. Advanced signs include muscle weakness, twitching, collapse, coma, increased heart rate and cardiac arrest. If you suspect your dog has ingested any of these seek veterinary treatment immediately. your garlic theory - read below Feline Future website warns against using garlic for cats and dogs "The use of garlic and other members of the Lily family such as onions, shallots, and chives in the cat's diet is not advised. Ingestion of these plants in a raw, cooked, or dried form can lead to damage of the red blood cells, which are rejected by the body from the bloodstream, and a continued use of garlic or onions can eventually result in hemolytic anemia. If the anemia is not controlled by discontinuing the use of the plants, it can potentially lead to death. Less significant but important is that raw garlic and onions irritate the mouth, esophagus, and stomach and can cause or exacerbate ulcers. We get ring worm every year with wrestling,If one has it does not mean the other three boys of mine will get it.If you can spot it early peroxide will kill it too,it cannot breath and grow.We will treat with perscriptions if not caught early and is growing, for we have a 7 days no wrestling for ring worm. And so try to catch it right away andy red spot gets treated. And it is HARD to get rid of sometimes. It is contagious but some seem more prone to it than others. I have never had it on my dogs though! |

I just love how people use the number of residents in their town, as an excuse to improperly care for their pets. Ummm no! Just because there are 2500 people living in your town, doesn't mean you should avoid taking your dog to the vet. There is no excuse for that. You've been offered help, which you turned down. The reason us "big city folk" take our pets to the vet a lot is because we love them as our family, not just an animal. Now I know why breeders are so selective and become so worried when they are selling their pups. |

Got this from a few threads below |
I have never replied to one of your post. I usually just sit here and laugh. If you are called on something you back track. I guess because you live in a small town no one has taught you to try and help your self before asking others. If you would have done that in the first place this whole mess would have never started. It seems like you ask first and wait to see who will help you. Then if you don't like what they have to offer you get offended and then decide to help yourself. I too live in a small town. I too can go to the feed store and get things that "big city folks" get from the vet. However, I don't. We are talking about a tiny breed of dog. They can be overcome by an illness very quickly. Also who tells you about dosing. Most of those packages are for 15lb or more. As far as home remedies. My Great grandmother was full blooded indian I have had my fair share of them. The great thing about the time in which we live today is that you can look up anything on the internet. I wouldn't dare give my child or dog and thing without checking it out first. Please stop making excuses. Please get help for your dog. |
So let me get this strait... You come on here and paint all the concerned members a picture of a pup who has been suffering from infestation for XXX amount of time, state that you can't afford treatment, ask for help, refuse it when it is offered (even when someone else offers to pay the bill for you!), state something that is clearly INCORRECT information, are proven wrong, then lash out at others for giving you the advice YOU asked for and insult everyone here with your holier-than-thou-more-informed-small-town-girl-I'm-under-attack attitude. Did that sum it up pretty well? My initial suspicion is that the issues with your dog are not the biggest issues you have by a long shot--I truly hope that your dog can find the help it deserves. |
Ok people, yes we are all upset she didn't take her dog to the vet, but she did call her vet and get advise. Let's just be happy her puppies getting some sort of help. |
I really hope your little one is feeling better!:) |
At the risk of getting myself banned or suspended...here goes. Ally, I have read a lot of your posts and had some conversations with you and it seems you still don't get it. You come on YT with your boo hoo I'm so poor, my husband's a non supportive ass and you present yourself as this poor pitiful me victim. And then when people offer you support, help, and a handout, you throw it back in their face. How dare you? Most of the members one here are way more knowledgable then you are about your yorkie and they deserve nothing but respect. You asked for help with Fergie's worms, Feminvster offered to pay for your vet visit and you turned it down. What was the point of coming on here saying how broke you were, asking for help and then refusing the help when it was given? Connie k was right. When you are confronted on something you back track, change your story and then start attacking. You can't do that. I've been where you are Ally. I had both my girls very young, I had the non supportive husband, so don't even go there with me. You can not come on here complain, ask for handouts and then slap the face of the people who try and help you. Your life situation is a choice you made and continue to make. Only you can change that and only you have the ability to do something about it. No one and I mean no one is going to hand it to you on a silver platter. Grow up and step up. I used to work 2 jobs while my kids were growing up so we could get by. My husband refused, so instead of whining about it I did something about it. Seems like you have a bunch of family, mom, sisters, etc to watch those kids for you so you can work if things are so bad. It's my opinion that you are in over your head right now and the best thing you could do for Fergie is find her a good home. And maybe someday when things are more stable and you have some money, you could get a yorkie. Heck it took me 15 years before I got mine. I know this will come across as mean and hurtful, and for that I'm sorry, but you just can not keep doing this. These people are trying to be supportive. You need to decide to either accept their help when it's given or don't ask for it. Plain and simple. I wish you the best and I hope you are able to overcome and figure it out. You have a hard road, I know. It's not going to get easier Ally, kids grow up and get more demanding and more expensive. Get a handle on it now. Think twice before you post. |
Ally.. I totally don't understand your post?? Your first post you asked for remedies or suggestions for the worms..... and then you changed and were shouting you KNEW all the answers and knew all the cures for worms so everybody stop telling you. So now which is it? You need help or you already knew????? I'm not trying to be mean but I absolutely don't understand why you poste if you knew all these down home backwoods remedies your family has been using for tons of dogs for years?? OOP By the way also.. not saying this in a mean way but YES your hubby can have ringworm without giving it to other family members. If you have a Dr. who just tells you over the phone don't bother with it because he knows over the phone it isn't ringworm... I would change Drs.. |

I cant believe this is what happens when someone asks about worm pills. The offer to pay for vet help is no good. It is a four hr drive from Coos Bay to Portland. She would have to spend the night and alot of $$ for gas. That is not really an offer. You may not no that if you dont live in Oregon. Now you are telling her personal business and telling her how to live her life. |
