My pup doesnt have ringworm...if thats what you read then that was a mistake...and my husband couldnt of gotten it from an animal cuz we had none at the time...and we werent around any then...and for like the third time...my kids' doc says that if none of us have gotten it from him then its not ringworm..and that there is alot of things that look like it that are harmless...we havent tried any home remedies on her...we can just get the same pill at the grange as we can at the vet...and it treats for all kinds of worms...its just simple worms and she will be treated on friday for it...shes fine...thank you all for the offers but i honestly couldnt accept help from anyone with something like that without being a little embarased lol...and im not in coos bay...im close but im in myrtle point which is even more of a hick town then coos bay...and location does have a little to do with it...vets here are alot different then the ones in a big city and people are different with their dogs in a bigger city also...i have called the vet and asked what they had to treat worms and they said they usually give safeguard...and i called the grange and that is also what they sell but its alot cheaper to get it at the grange...i know what kind of worms it is...its flat worms which can be treated over the counter. i appreciate all of your concerns but being here and knowing first hand whats going on i know its not bad yet...i have had some experience with pets and i have only taken one to the vet when they had worms cuz it was serious...and fergie isnt to that point...and so if i get safeguard and it doesnt get rid of them then i will take her to the vet...thanks again for your concern |

Bottom line, your dog needs medical treatment...now. I understand money gets tight, but your dog's problems won't neccessarily wait until you can get back on your feet. Please get your dog proper treatment. If you can't manage to properly care for the animal as is neccessary, please get the dog to someone who can. Ignoring the problem for whatever reason is neglect, plain and simple.:( |

Did you know tobacco is poisonous to dogs? |
I agree!!!! Get this pup some help |
I usually just ignore these type of threads and keep my opinion to myself, but this time I really feel compelled to speak my mind. I am not trying to offend you or be mean in any way. First off your puppy needs to see a vet asap, I don't care what type of town you live in, veterinarians go to school for a reason, they know more than us folks that aren't vets. I am originally from a small back hills town in West Virginia(I am talking hick town), maybe 700 people, and we had college educated vets within driving distance and used them not our own home remedies. If these type of things aren't treated properly they can get worse and cause more harm. When you brought this puppy into your home you should have thought about the timing of vet expenses. They don't always happen at payday, sometimes there are emergencies and you have to plan for that before it happens. If they offer payment plans there really is no excuse to not get the pup to the vet and if you can't afford payments you should have thought of that before you got the puppy. Saying your husband just doesn't like payment plans isn't a reason to not go to a vet. Have you ever seen Animal Precinct? If your puppy died from these illnesses, you would be held accountable because you didn't get it treatment from a vet. Don't tell me, you are from a small town so don't have to worry about animal control. Even if there is no animal control in your town, think of the point I am trying to make. Please get your puppy to a vet! |
Worms Not defending taking your pets to a vet, but I took my poor Molliemae to my vet when she was having puppies. They had no one there during the day to handle a C-section, so I was sent all the way across town to the emergency vet. While they were preparing for tests and a C-section, Mollie not only had her breech puppy in her crate, but delivered a darling female on her own at the ER vet. We just never know. I hope everything turns out okay for your pup. I have 5 dogs and they are all beautiful to me. I pray everything goes okay. I paid the price for my vet and the ER and Molliemae did it on her own. Of course, I lost the first breech little darling, but I now have a beautiful 8 week old Abbi Rose. I adore her. Sometimes I feel if I had waited Mollie would have done it all on her own at home. I know this isn't concerning worms, but just thought I would add this. Please don't be offended. I think most of us love our dogs and do the best we can with them. God Bless All. Jan |

So heres the news...I just called my vet and told them fergie has worms. they told me to go to the feed store in coquille and get safe guard. he said that if her worms were serious then i would need to bring her in but because shes only had them for a few days that i can just treat it myself. so end of discussion |
