Coco's not eating? She hasn't ate since I brought her home last night at 8:00 PM and it's now 9:34 AM. I gave her nutri-cal twice since then. I don't know what to do? She wont even eat the food off my hand... What do you think I should do?? |
Its probably a little soon yet but if she continues not to eat for you try mixing her food with some moist food or cottage cheese |
Shes just scared. Mason didnt hardly eat anyhting for 3 days when I got him. I kept nutrical in him and i mixed alittle ceasr with his food..not alot just enough to give that enticing smell and he startrd eating alittle...what kind of food you feeding her? Mason was givin Eukanuba and he hated it..wouldnt eat it so i switched to natural choice and he gobbled it up! :) Good Luck and Congtrats again:D |

It's still new to her she is probably a little scared I have fed Georgie plain boiled chicken from the day I brought him home. Maybe you should try to give her a little of that. Or mix it with chicken and rice baby food.Good luck and keep giving her nutrical you are doing a great job;) |
were they moistening her food? I forgot...how old is she? I'm sure it's because everything is new to her. In all honesty...I would be nervous too. Sadie didn't eat well when I brought her home either...she was wayyyy to young (6 weeks) It came down to me feeding her off of a spoon...this worked and eventually she ate out of her bowl...Sadie is 2 1/2 yrs old now and is STILL a horrible eater..Lillie is our new furbaby...she came to live with us at 8 weeks...she was a little piggy! I was moistening her food as all her bottom teeth were not in. Now she just gets her kibbles..Her eating habits are changing as she is now 14wks..if I notice that the girls haven't eaten in a while I will give them a little nutri-cal and this will usually stimulate them to eat...I'm sure she will start eating for you once she gets used to her new home. |
by the way....do you have new pics of coco? The ones you posted last night were kind of dark and these eyes aren't what they used to be!! |
ok i mixed her food with some chicken noodle soup baby food and she gobbled the baby food down but just ate around the dry food lol. she is only 7 weeks old and turned 7 weeks yesterday. |
Oh well good at least you got her to eat. I gave Jewels baby food too when she was little |
maybe it's the kibbles she doesn't like. I can't even begin to tell you how many different brands I have tried for Sadie! And, when I find one that she likes she usually only eats it for a few months then decides she doesn't like it anymore...Maybe you could get a couple of sample bags and she what she likes. I'm glad to hear that at least she ate something.. |
I got both of my yorkies young like that and neither one of them would eat kibble when I first brought them home. I had to give them LiL caesar moist. I still give them 1/2 a tin each of this in the morning |
No worries I think most puppies do that when they first are getting use to a new environment. How did she sleep last night? |

You should also try those little chicken sausages from Gerber ( I think) baby food in glass jar. We used to mix it with some other food for LILO in the first 2 weeks after we got her. It was her favorite. |
