How do you introduce new foods I've recently received samples from Canidae and Chicken Soup. How should I try them out on her? Should I give her these foods as a treat or part of her normal food? She has a sensitive stomach so I know I'm supposed to introduce new foods gradually. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I would take small amount of the food she eats now and small amount of the food you would like to change and mix the food together that way it does not upset her tummy for seven days, that's what the vet told me to do.

I would get 2 separate bowls and mix her original food with the 2 new ones you want to try out, put both of them down, and see which one she likes better. Mixing it will prevent her tummy from getting upset.

| I would just choose one. I feed Canidae so I'm partial to that, but pick either one. Don't try to do one then the other or let her pick, trust me I've had that result in yucky diarrhea. NO FUN! Then, take out 10 ziplock bags and a sharpie. Label with the next 10 dates. Start wil 90% old food 10% new food - enough for one day, then 80/20, etc. etc. etc. until you're at 100% new food. I did it like this because when I attempted to switch in the past I ended up switching to quickly or didn't have time to measure or whatever. 3 or 4 days was not long enough and again ended up in diarrhea. Trust me, do 10 days. And don't add any new treats or anything hard on her stomach until you're all done. Good luck!!!! Erin P.S. Canidae solved Loki's tummy problems.

same like the other person posted, mix and take little away as days go by of old for 7 days till there no more of old food, i'm in the process of doing it with eukanuba switching from diamond which she came with, diamond has food issues back in jan so not wanting her to have it, then i found out byproducts for dogs aint good so now i will keep her on eukanuba for a week then switch again and keep it at nutro nature choice which is natural food healthier
