| Greenies.... Safe or not? I really like the idea of what they're supposed to do. One of my dogs has horrible breath and will not let me brush her teeth. But, I'm paranoid about her choking!

| I've heard so much bad stuff about Greenies, that' don't even use them! I use the treats made my Canidae, they also gives your dog a fresh breath. |

| I have an older dog with really bad teeth and breath and the greenies didn't help at all. Plus, since being on this site, there are numerous reports about them not being digestible. There are lots of products out there that help with teeth and breath. Do a search for Life for Teeth, a gel (or spray) that your dog will lick off your fingers and mixes with their saliva to clean the teeth and freshen breath. I have much better results with that and teh bottle looks like I've barely used any and its been three months now!

My furkids Donating Member | I had one bad experience with them. I will watch Sadie when she is chewing on them. Usually I take it away when she is down to a little piece. This day I didn't get it in time. She started to choke! I had to go into her mouth and take it out..That was the last time she got a greenie! I use Denta Delicious. They are a very very hard bone that is totally digestible. However, I still take it away when it gets too small. Greenies are not 100% digestible. Dogs have had them lodged in their intestines. I don't know why a company would make something like this and not make it 100% digestible! You can get the denta delicious at the grocery store or petco. I read the ingredients and didn't see any "junk" in them...I give Sadie 1 a week...it helps to keep her teeth clean...As for the breath!!! I was told to try "mint biscuts" from Foster and Smith...haven't tried them yet but, i'm going to/

| I definitely won't use them! I'm glad to know that there are other options. I am so paranoid about choking.

| Im glad to hear that you are not going to use them anymore. I told my neighbor about it, she has been giving her dogs greenies every day for years So as soon as i told her she looked into it and was happy that i told her because she had never heard of it. I know she would have been devasted if something would have happened to her dogs!
