We feed Canidae, but we mixed in a bag of Innova Evo because ours were loosing weight and our Paris can't just can't handle that as she is very lean as it is. After this batch is gone we may try just Canidae again and see what happens! :) I love Canidae!! |

So does that mean Canidae would not be a good choice for Yorkies?? |

Help!! RoxyJo won't touch her food. Her preferences, aside from whatever we humans are eating, are: cat food, anything she can salvage out of the litter box (yes, she gives litter-box breath kisses which is how I know what she has been up to. Besides, she usually has litter all over her "It wasn't me" face), and the furballs that Fozzie coughs up. Yesterday, he was nice enough to cough one up on Roxy's piddle-pad, which was very considerate of him, but Roxy raced me to it and got it before I could. I got up this morning, and since there was no furball for her morning snack, she proceeded to eat the piddle-pad!! I'm not sure what the required percentage of cat fur and spit is in a yorkie's diet. Not to mention piddle-pads. Any suggestions? (This is Roxy's g-ma ~~ this started out as my spot but Krysten(Roxy's mom) took it over. Now I have to start my own again. Anyway, any suggestions as to switching her food? The cat food she loves is Little Friskies with Carnation Milk Balls in it, along with a very little Ceasar's. (She will eat that, but now I know it's not good for her so she is going to be soooooo mad at me). Help, Help, Help!! |

I haven't heard many mention Merrick's in a while, but I just wanted to mention it. I've tried so many foods for my picky little ones. Merrick's is the first food that they're eating consistently for months. I'd thought I was onto something when I was feeding the Chicken Soup brands, but then they eventually turned their nose up to it. Now, for the last 4 or 5 months Merrick's has been their food of choice. They seem to really like it. Mommy likes that it has real food chunks in it, including chicken and veggies. I get most of the flavors and switch the flavors. I didn't go to the site where the foods are rated. Is this one of the higher rated ones? Or is it too high in protein. Mind both seem quite healthy and their itching is FINALLY at a minimum. |

Moisture 10.0 % Protein 42.0 % Fat 22.0 % Fiber 2.5 % Calories 1929 Kcal/lb Calories 4243 Kcal/Kg Calories 537 KCals/Cup As you see there is a LOT of protein in the food and we wouldn't chose to feed it strait to our yorkies. We were just suggested to mix in the Evo with our Canidae to gain a little much needed weight. So far it has done well although once the weight is gained we will try to go strait Canidae again and see if the weight stays on. :) |
I have tried several brands. They both turn their noses up to all, untill I tried Pro Pac. It is a family owned business. They only sell to elite pet stores. My little girls love it. It is all natural, and very highly rated. |
