Natural Balance Hi I'm new, I don't want to start any food problems, but I'm looking for people who use Natural Balance Dog food. Which flavor do you use, (we use Duck and Potato just started recommend because puppy is allergic to chicken, beef and lamb). Have you had a good experience, is your furbaby thriving, and any other information you can give me. Thank you in advance |
We get Sebastian the Beef roll and he loves it, he was eating Eukanuba but won't eat anything else now. According to what I've read this is a really good food for our dogs :) |
my scrappy eats the potato and duck and he loves it also i buy the beef roll for a snack and loves it , wouldnt feed him anything else he is a very picky eater and this is the only thing he dont stick his nose up at. :) |
My 12 week old pups are on the Natural Balance max nutrition, (kibble is smaller) my adults eat the sweet potato and fish. We have no problems with it being liked or anything else. The rolls we use also but not as the only food. More as a treat dinner a couple times a week. |
1 Attachment(s) Well we went to the pet store and picked Sebastian up some of the Natural Balance Ultra Premium dog food and amazingly he loved it!!! So now he is eating dry food also again :D |
Try Flint River Ranch. Not chicken parts. Not a bunch of corn (filler). Also, yorkies can be senstive to wheat. They have less bowel movements and it doesn't smell. www.flintriver-pet-food.com |
do u think Natural Balance is better then the RC brand? if so I might change to NB |

natural balance Hi everyone, thank you for all of your input. She is doing good has been doing better, seems less itchy. She had some diarreha this morning, but I know it's just until her bowels get use to it. We weren't walking her outside because we thougt that she had outside allergies. But we had to try several foods untill we found this one. When I got her from the breeder she was on IAMS, had chicken, didn't agree, then she was placed on California Natural Lamb and Rice for puppy, did bad, her face would itch so much she was going crazy, then she was placed a Just a WEEBIT from solid gold, bison and salmon.Something in it made didn;t agree, and now finally Natural Balance Duck and Potato, I feel so bad for her she has been a good sport eating all of the different foods. I pray that she can stay with this one, it is also free of eggs and dairy. Thank you all |
I just switched Diesel to Natuaral Balance Duck and Potato. I have to grind his food because the pieces are a little bigger than he is used to but he loves it! I hope this one works out for your baby. :) Reagan :) |
Won alot of it I won alot of the Natural Balance foods in a pet rescue raffle a couple of weeks ago at out local Petco. The boys like some of it (Turkey roll, and beef roll) kibble they are ok with, duck and potato they tolerate. I wish they would like it better than the Eukanaba, I have four free coupons for 20 pounds each of it LOL. I also have lots of their treats and Pro Plan stuff, probably will end up donating a lot of it to the rescue I won it from. Leace it to my boys to be so picky! |
just started mine on the Natural Balance a few days ago, and they love it. |
Wait... so you're telling me that maybe the reason my dog scratches herself like a little fiend is because she may be allergic to something in her FOOD???? |
Yep. My little guy scratched, sneezed, licked and bit at his paws, and coughed. All of this was due to food allergies. I recieved this flyer about allergies. I don't have a scanner, but I will type out some of the common signs that your pup may be allergic to something in the food. Signs of poor nutrition and allergies can frequently be: bad breath, body odor, itching, shedding, hot spots, stomach irritation, vomiting, gas, diarrhea, constipation, hyperactivity and lethargy, and biting and licking of the paws. Look at the pet's food label and avoid things that say "meat and bone meal, poultry, animal, or by-products" Generic terms (meat, animal, or by-product) can mean any kind of meat including rendered/euthanized animals. Poultry can be any kind of bird. As far fats go, it should not say "animal fat". Beef fat or Chicken fat are quality sources of fat. "Animal fat" can be anything, including recycled restaurant grease. The pet food companies use these sources b/c they're cheep. Also stay away from additives and preservatives such as BHA, BHT and Ethoxyquin, which are carcinogens. Propylene glycol keeps the food soft, but is also found in windshield wiper fliud. I use Natural Balance Venison and Brown Rice puppy formula. It is their allergy formula. My babies love it, and he doesn't scratch anymore, and his gas is less frequent and less stinky. I hope that this helps. :animal-sm Mandee |

A local store started carring Natural Balance this week. I am so excited, not more ordering online or driving an hour one way for quality food. YEAH!!!!!!!!!:mademyday |
Does Natural Balance give your pup stinky poo?:animal36 Thanks! |

I feed my 3 the ultra premium small bites also. I use the lamb, turkey and beef rolls and recently started using the liver formula canned food. Wiley my terrier mix need to put on some weight so he gets the canned food or the roll mixed into his food, and then pepper and cricket get a little also so they won't feel left out. FYI for those of you that don't have a petco nearby you can order it on the internet site(free shipping). they use fedex to deliver and it gets there pretty quick. |
We have been feeding the Natual Balance Sweet Potatoe and Fish for about a year and have been pleased. Our yorkies did gain osme weight, but we cut their amount back and started walking them more and the weight is coming off. We have always struggled with different issues - Sailor is itching and hair loss and Magic was tummy problems.....but with the switch to Sweet Potatoe and Fish we are not seeing those issues anymore. We have not tried any of the other flavors....but we heard good things about the potatoe and duck. |
I picked up Max some of the Nat. Balance Turkey & Cranberry Small Biscuits today and he LOVES them! |
I picked up a bag of the Ultra premium for all life stages a few days ago and my dogs have yet to eat it. oh, they eat a few kibbles here and there but nothing like the way they ate the Eukanuba. I might have to switch mine back. |
Sugar's mom please go to this site: Dog Food Reviews - Main Index - Powered by ReviewPost and look up what ever eukanuba your dogs were on then look at some of the 5 star dog food ingredients you might be suprised at what you are paying $$$ for. I hate to be negative but Any type of Purina, Science diet and eukanuba are mostly corn. If your puppies don't like Natural balance try a different flavor or brand. There is even a sticky on here that you can email for free samples!!:) |
My three eat the natural balance organic dry kibble and they get a slice of the food roll either beef, lamb or turkey in the morning. After Maggie got Pancreatitis from eating a high fat content food, I started feeding her the natural balance once I got the okay from my vet that her levels were back to normal. She has not had a recurrence and her and the boys just love it. I also buy the treat rolls and use them while I am training. As for stinky poo, I can actually say that considering I have 3 Yorkies that stay upstairs while I am at work, When I come home there isn't a heavy smell just real faint. None of them have gas either. My vet actually recommended that I keep them on this. Told me there is no need to change the food if they like it just change up the flavors. |

i know all about what I feed but thank you for the tip.. over the years I have spent big bucks on dog food buying all the best premium brands only to bring it home and have them almost starve before they would eat. I feed what works for my dogs. I am a breeder and I have to keep my dogs fed. I don't mean to be negative either but believe me, my dogs aren't eating Eukanuba for lack of research or trying to get better food for them. I have researched all this food and still I have to feed what my dogs will eat. To each their own. |
feeding hi all, i have a 11 week old little boy and today he weighed 4 pounds. i live over seas and i ordered natural balance food and am waiting for it to get here. but with that does he need any supplements or vitamins? exceptionally since the food we got ( Japanese pet store) seems to not be the best.( low grade type) i have to mix baby food meat with it to get him to eat. he is gaining weight so that is good. any help would be great. thanks Carol and Samurai:aimeeyork:) |
Hi all, My Samurai is on Natural Balance Ultra Premium food and he loves it BUT he has gas. not alot but enough. Is it the food or something else? petco carries it. Petsmart does not. I get it at a small local pet store. |
Buddy has been eataing Natural Balance Organic for over two years. He\'s 15lbs so I guess he is thriving on it. LOL I add boiled chicken breast and veggies to his pm dinner and just chicken to his am dinner. He loves it and yes he does have stinky poos but who cares. They are outdoors and always firm and healthy looking. Yuk but true. |
