| Puppy Food When should you take a puppy off of puppy food? Sydney is 7.9 lbs. and I was wondering if she still needed all the fat that is in the puppy food. My vet suggested to still keep her on the puppy food until a year old. |

you should keep her on the puppy food till a year old, but if she's getting fat you can cut back the amount you give her, or cut back on the treats you give her. some people start giving adult food as early as 8 months but i don't think its a good idea

| I've read that the appropriate range is anywhere from 10-18 months. I took my male off at 16 months & my female off at 11 months.

| Generally for small breed dogs it's good to keep them on till they are ten months old and for large breeds a year a half. hope this helps

| I agree with everyone else.... Puppy food until at least a year old. Cut back on the amount if you think your "little one" is getting too "big".
