| Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream food allergy??? Hey there! Hailey has been eating TOTW Pacific Stream for the last 2-3 months and a few weeks ago I've noticed she had these red spots(sort of pimples with pus) all over her butt area and a few scattered on her belly/chest. I took her to the vet yesterday and he said it was a bacterial infection most likely caused by allergy. Is anyone here feeding this food had any similar experience to mine? Prior to using TOTW she had been on Chicken Soup dry formula for years(she's now 5 years old) and never had any problem with allergy but then she started getting recurrent yeast infections in her ears/ she was scooting/scratching etc... so the vet advised me to switch her to a grain free diet and suggested i'd buy their food Royal Canin Hypoallergenic formula but it didn't look good to me. What should i do? Should i try a different protein source from the same brand? I am in need of your help/advice!!! Thanks!!! |

| I wouldn't really think food was causing that.... more likely environmental allergies, it sounds like. But if it is food allergy, then yes maybe try a different protein source. I am feeding TOTW Sierra Mountain (lamb) and have never had any issues like that. Maybe you could try a different formula.

| We have been using TOTW pacific stream for over 6 months. Ziva's doing great and my wheaten terrier has never been better- if there was anything to be allergic to that dog would have had it- she is sensitive to so many foods. |

| Zhoie has been one TOTW Pacific Stream for several months and she eats her 2 meals daily, no reluctance and seems to be doing well on it.

| Thanks for your input on this. I see your pooches are doing fine on this food so perhaps there's something else to blame. I also noticed she has been getting more discharge from her eyes.....I think i will try a different protein source and see if it changes anything. Thanks a bunch!!! |
