Life for Teeth Hello, I was wondering if anybody has tried a product called Life for Teeth. I hear it is AMAZING at cleaning teeth. From what I have found out about it, is that it comes in a spray or gel, and is supposed to just mix with the puppy’s saliva and coat their teeth. I have heard it make the tarter and icky stuff just fall off and bad breath is destroyed. Just thought I'd post it out there, I haven’t had problems with bad breath yet, but it might be a good product for some. p.s. It is all natural! |
I haven't heard of it... I did a google search and came up with some places that sell it, It sounds too good to be true. I'll be curious to see if anyone on YT has used it. |

I googled it and found it at tobysnaturalpets.com. The mediator at the Maltese forum liked it so much that he added it as a product offered in his store, with a money back guarantee. It looks like some the Maltese parents are getting close to the 30 day marker so I hope they will post results soon. Just looking at that web site though, they have great before and after pics and testimonials. Maybe we could get some YT parents to try it. I think I will. |
I've been using this product for about a year now and find that it is as good as they advertise. I have 3 yorkies and try to spray their teeth at least once a day -- that's the hard part -- its easy to skip a morning of spraying. Your actually supposed to do it twice a day but I find once a day is sufficient. I buy it on line at http://www.petzlife.com/ |
Hm.... Looks very convincing! I brush Pixie's teeth every other day and what a pain it is! Maybe I'll try some of this and use it every day and just brush once a week and see if there's any difference. Maybe I'll get some and try it on the cats. The one needs a cleaning SO bad but I've been putting it off because he's always so traumatized after we get back from the vet.... I'd be so completely thrilled if it worked! |

I just ordered it. 1-888-334-0096 If it works, it is a bargain compared to cleanings and anesthesia |

My Jolene has never had her teeth cleaned to my knowledge (gasp) and needs it done. The vet said she might could wait a bit longer, but I don't think so. Do they need to have a cleaning before it is effective or does it work on "gunky" teeth as well?? I'm willing to try it to keep from spending a fortune at the vet for a cleaning. |
I've never had my Yorkies teeth cleaned yet but when I started Petzlife they weren't too bad at all -- if you use it twice a day at first it works pretty fast -- pretty much just how they advertise it -- I guess it depends on how bad the build up is. So far I'm still on my first bottle and have had it almost a year. There is also another product similar to this call www.lebaIII.com but it is more expensive. I've even used this stuff on my own teeth :D |
So does it work a previous post said that they were purchasing it so i was just wondering |

thank you for the info you are right alot cheaper then teeth cleaning |
Are people using the gel as well or just the spray? |
I've only used the spray but I think next time I will try the gel -- the yorkies seem to dislike the spay sound. |
I discovered this stuff at a grooming expo a couple weeks ago. There sales pitch was pretty convincing so we bought a batch to sell. I am going to try some on my larger mixed breed dog (I guess on my yorkies also). It appears to work if you believe the pictures and is all natural stuff. The biggest thing to me is the benefit of not having to subject your dog (and checkbook) to general anestisia. They said whether you use gel or spray is just personal preference but I feel like the gel might coat the teeth better. Also you don't have to brush the dogs teeth but the sales guy said for best results you should brush the teeth (they also sell cool double sided toothbrushes too). My larger dog needs a cleaning and even has some redness on her gums so she will make a good test subject. I will let you guys know how it goes. |
OK, my order of the spray (figured I would see how well the spray does before I order the gel as well) arrived last night. As always, both of my pups had to put up a bit of a fight when they realized I was holding a weird bottle and trying to open their mouths. Neither of them seemed to mind the taste of the spray though........it actually smells pretty good....nice and minty. I also sprayed a little on one of their chew toys and they spent the rest of the evening chewing on it. I will continue to brush their teeth with the paste I have, but if this stuff works as good as it says it does, then I will go for their gel as well. Thanks for posting about this.......I had never even heard of the stuff! :thumbs up |
Wow! This product sounds amazing! Can't wait to use it :) |
It sounds like a great product. I will certainly check it out. |

Please keep us posted. I hope it works as Sadie needs her buckys cleaned too, but I hate the thought of anesthesia. Thanks. |
I've just started using it since this thread was started, but personally I've found the gel is easier to work with. The cats won't let me get near 'em with any kind of spray bottle and Pixie won't keep her mouth open long enough for me to get it in there. With the gel, I just smear it on the front of the cats' teeth and they lick it all up (they hate it though). Pixie will actually just lick a glob of it off my finger, she seems to like it. I've been using it to brush her teeth too. Hopefully as long as I use this stuff, I'll never have to get her teeth cleaned.... |
I just ordered some Gel - and am definitely going to give it a try. I have two dogs know to have "especially bad teeth" ... a Bichon and a Yorkie. If it "even helps," I'll be happy! ---------------- FYI - This is just information that was given on the site I bought it from..... ================================================== ====== One trick that is working fantastically is to put some gel on a saucer or plate and mix in a dab of peanut butter. Dogs love peanut butter and they lick the mixture and it coats their entire mouth and gums. The peanut butter is digested and our product is left in their mouth, this is very effective at bed-time. Keep all other food and water away and it will work it’s magic all night long! Pet owners have sprayed their dogs favorite chew toy or bone and this has worked for them. For small dogs all you do is pat a dab of gel on dogs lips and they lick into their mouth and product coats entire mouth and gums. For cats you can spray or use gel on favorite treat or mix in a dab of fish oil, or liver paste, or other favorite snacks that your cat likes. Remember, direct application is best with no dilution and occasional brushing , but these methods have been proven to work!! ================================================== === Carol Jean |
Can anybody that bought it give me an update on this product? |

I've been using it for about a week....I can DEFINITELY see a difference. Where the whole tooth was gunky, now maybe half is gunky. I am using the spray and the gel when I can get hold of her a little better and have the hubby's help. I use one spray on each side. I'll keep you posted, but so far, I highly recommend it. I got mine form Georgia at tobysnaturalpets.com. |
