I just bought some yesterday, He LOVES them, and he doesn't inhale them, like other things, he has had the same one for 2 days , chews on it alot, and hasn't made a dent in it. He actually growled at the cat, when he walked by, thining he might take it, he has never done that, must be some good stuff. The one I bought was 1.99 a piece, Bully Stix,it says as ingredients - tendond.. Oh well, he loves it. |

Bully Stix 12" Although this treat is definitely a conversation piece, we do not suggest that you bring it with you on a first date. It has been known to cause severe blushing. This is one of the most popular treats in the pet world and it is no secret that dogs love it. This 12” bully stick boasts that bigger is better and is made right here in America. You can have the peace of mind that they were manufactured under our country’s regulations and standards. Ingredients: Tendon Guaranteed Analysis Crude Protein (Min.) 79.00% Crude Fat (Min.) 1.30% Crude Fiber (Max.) 1.00% Moisture (Max.) 13.00% I give Lillie bully stix and she loves them! |
Not all bully sticks are penises - some are tendons, it just depends on the manufacturer. I guess I don't care what they're made of as long as they're safe and good for my girls. I don't know what I would do without them! (the bully sticks) They really keep my girls occupied and I'm not sure what would be getting chewed up instead if we didn't use them!! I still watch pretty carefully while they have them and never give them to them if I'm not home. I buy mine on e-bay and have gotten some wonderful deals. Just be sure you check with the seller about what they are and where they came from, etc... but you can really save money this way. I've bought 4 -1 lb. bags on e-bay and they have been great. omega |
Lola LLOOOVVEEESSS these.. she will chew and chew and chew and barely get anywhere with them. one lasts forever!! |
Life Saver! I had no idea until I read these posts what bully sticks are made of, but I just bought Daisy her first bully stick today! She hasn't put it down since I gave it to her. It is such a relief, because previously, all she chewed on was furniture and the carpet! I might have to leave out the ingredient when I tell my husband about her new treat! |
I bought two Bully Sticks for Diamond, I think they were each $2.99 and she goes to town on them! It's great because she is occupied for at least thirty minutes. She usually has the same one for awhile. They do tend to smell after awhile. I was a little disappointed because she was at the petsitters just recently and I gave the petsitter one of the bully sticks and Diamond didn't come home with it :( Now I have to buy more, maybe I will check the web first :D |
I am in Canada...does anyone know if I can buy one at Petsmart?? Dawn |

Lauren, where did you get your Bully sticks from? Everytime I go to Petco or Petsmart, they're sold out. I didn't know bull penises were such a hot commodity. |

I haven't bought Jake any bully sticks yet since I found out what they are, but you're right....at least they're useful for something!:D |

I gave them to Maddie once, but they get all gross like raw hides and I didnt see how they could be safe with the gooeyness of them. Besides, I just couldnt get over the fact that a dried on penis was laying on my floor. UGGGG:eek: |

Benji & Bella just got their first bully stick last night. They absolutely loved them and when I went to put them up, they both followed me and started whining to get it back. I didn't mention to my boyfriend what they were though. He has no idea....haha. |

bully sticks Can i leave my dog at home alone eating a bully stick or should i not even do that. I want to give him a treat that's going to last long and that wont make him choke he's 6lbs righg now and i leave him alone when i go to work so i want to keep him entertained would this be the ideal treat or should i just stick to the kong i already have for him? |
Ellisandra, I think that is really a judgment call, because you know your yorkie best. For instance, I could leave one out all day and if I'm gone, Kacee wouldn't touch it. When I'm home, she'll just chew on it a little while and leave it. I throw them away when they get very short. If yours is a real chewer and might eat the whole bully stick, I wouldn't leave it out. They can choke on anything. If he just chews a little bit and that's all, I myself wouldn't be afraid to leave one. |
i leave one out for lexi all day and nite, she only eats it when im around and thats a good thing... its up to you if your puppy is a chewer i would be alittle nervouse to leave it |
I have heard you all talk about the flossies and bully sticks so often. I am just going to have to get off my behind and go get some. I think my gang would love them!:) |
We had a bad experience with them. I got them because everyone here likes them. I thought I would try them. Well, Lucy chewed on them for about 2 days and it didn't seem she was really eating any, they seemed about the same size. Then she started vomiting and having horrible diarrhea. She vomited and pooped strings from the bully sticks. It looked like blood was in the vomit and poop but I now know that it was just the reddish coloring from the sticks. This went on all day. By the end of the day we were at the vets. And 300.00 dollars later we knew it was from the bully sticks. I went home and threw out all bully sticks. |

Bully Sticks - OMG......... Stedman LOVES his bully sticks! I buy them at PetSmart (granted they are almost $4 for ONE there, but one last him foreverrrrr so I don't mind paying it). Anyway - I am DEFININTELY going to check and see what the heck the one we have is made of, because if it's a dried bull penis, I'M THROWING IT OUT! lol. I'll go get him one that is pure tendon instead - A dried bull penis is my Steddy's mouth? YUCK!!!!!!!!! I DO NOT think so. :thumbdown God my husband would KILL me if I told him what that thing could possibly be made of - OMG he alone will throw it out FOR SURE!! lol |
OMG....I cannot believe what I am hearing..... Wait....let me get my glasses.........I must be mistaken...... You are discussing feeding your "little" Yorkie a "bull penis?????" First, what happened to the bull??????? Second, that is downright NASTY!!!!!!! Third, that is really "nasty" And the next thing you will want to do was........bronze it and put in on your mantle......ROFLMAO!!!!! I could really get crude, but in consideration of the sweet young people on YT......I will only chuckle to myself.....\\ And then you say, it gets soft and mushy??????? What ever are you thinking??????!!!!!! :lol tears :shocked7q :shocked7q |
