Oh my gosh, I felt the same way you did. I got so scared at the fact they had to put her under. But, Princess did great and she is only 2.7 pounds. And she is almost ayear old. I guess the procedure is so routine that the veterinary assistant actually does it and the vet watches. She defintely acted groggy for maybe 2 days. Have them clean the teeth too. I would do it now if she is in good health. It will benefit them for the rest of their life! |
I Just dropped off my Harley 2lb 1yr old at the vet. He has to stay overnight. They will remove his baby teeth. I miss him so much already. He is by my side 24-7. He even presses his little face against the shower door waiting on me. I will pick him up tomorrow afternoon and I can't wait!!!!! |
Apple is 9 months old and still has 3 of her canine teeth beside her adult teeth ...My vet told me not to worry about it, 'till she was a year old...I'm sure hoping she loses the other 3, before then!!! His specialty is the tooth thing, so I'm thinking waiting 'till a year is o.k.... |
Read this thread with interest, my baby has 1 lower canine tooth that wont move, not even loose, might try getting him a big chewy thing to make it loss, vet said wait till 1 year old before he will remove it, my baby already had his op so I'm not wanting to put him through anesthetic again if I can help it |

Harley did great getting his teeth pulled. As soon as he got home he was hungry and started eating. It also cured his bad breath problem. |
I just had Gucci in to see the Vet last week - couldn't figure out what was wrong, but he'd screech if we touched him - now we know it must have been a wasp bite on his neck. While in the Vet's office, I learned that he still has 2 canines as well. She wasn't concerned, and his teeth look great, so I'm going with her. Gucci is about 16 months and 5#. Kathy and Gucci |
