| Ideas on finding smelly dry food? Okay so Flint seems to like foods with the strong smell. He is SOOO picky its no fun. He goes crazy when he knows a can of tuna is opened, acts like he is starving when my hubby let's him lick a tiny piece off fingers. I've even put a tiny bit in is food bowl as a topper on occasion but then he only eats his food like that for a day. Next day, forget it. Hes not starving (hes a big boy) but won't eat out of his bowl if kibble is plain. Most days he eats his food out of kings or he just won't eat on his own. Any idea of some decent "smelly" dry foods out there? |

| LOL, stinky food, I can't help ya on that. I am one of the lucky few that doesn't have a picky eater. Cody will eat any food so we haven't had to play the kibble game. Hopefully someone will chime in.

We went and got a little royal canin puppy loaf in sauce to kinda act like a topper and he licked his bowl clean. I'll have to see if he does it again tomorrow. I may go over to the yorkie royal canin dry to see if he likes that. I hear the picky yorkies tend to like it. Last edited by Marss; 01-28-2022 at 05:28 PM. Reason: Spelling errors bugging me

| Have you tried mixing wet food with the dry or even just giving wet food.

| I have a friend who has a picky puppy. She is not gaining weight because she is so stubborn about eating. The vet suggested going to the store and buying cheap puppy food....LOL ... so she did and now she has a happy puppy. It is a canned food by Purina but not sure of the name (I think it is Puppy Chow). She said it just looked like something she would normally avoid. Maybe you could try mixing it in whatever you are now feeding?

| Oh....you want smelly dry food. hmmmm Not sure on that one. I do know that my pups in the past have liked Hill's ZD and I thought it had a strange odor. But, that is an RX food...wouldn't hurt him but you really should not have to pay extra money for no real reason. I hope you find something

| Thanks everyone! He wouldn't eat his food this morning.. I mixed it with some of the royal canin puppy loaf and he just sniffed it, then walked away. So I got a Tupperware lid and put his food on ther. He ate all! He's so weird... haha. He will even tip over his bowl at times just to eat his food on the floor. So I also ordered a flat dish and a lick mat. He's A goofball! |

| I had a girl who ate 1/2 a plate of food, I would have to turn the dish around for her to eat the other 1/2, hey, whatever works lol.

He likes to flip his container and eat on the floor. May try a snuffle mat but his food is so tiny. haha
