| What do you feed your Yorkie? Hi Everyone! I have been feeding Minnie Earthborn Holistics but have recently found out it is causing congestive heart failure in dogs. Minnie recently has had a health issue and the fat content in the food is too high. I was wondering if anyone had an suggestions for a low fat content dog food and what they feed their Yorkie. Thanks! |

| I feed a Royal Canin and am a huge fan of their food. I don’t know about fat content though.

The Cardiologist suggested a Prescriptions Dog Food Called; Hills, For Weight Loss and also has a little something for Bones, You would feed Minnie by the amount you want her to weigh. My Bailey, for 6lbs., is 1/2 cup, I can’t get him to eat that much and he Loves it! It’s been 2+ weeks and he’s lost 4ozs.. I have noticed a little pep in his Step.😊 There’s a lot of dog food out there named Hill science diet etc., this is Not That! This is Prescription Dog Food, only carried by a Veterinarians Office. I would ask your Vet what they think. He does love it and it smells Really good! Warning ⚠️ The Cardiologist Warned me about the new fad, Grain Free Foods. They’re Not good for Yorkies Hearts♥️ Your Veterinarian should be able to recommend a good Well Balanced Dog Food, for Yorkies/Small Dogs. If not, make sure your Veterinarian treats small dogs! If you’re a big treat giver, that might be an issue also, I not but he gets things like fruits and veggies. I hope this helps. | |

| I will be getting a new puppy in a couple of weeks, for what I have seen Royal Canin seems very popular with yorkie parents, as a matter of fact the breeder feeds Royal. I have been reading DogFoodAdvisor and there seem to be some more highly rated small breed puppy foods, I am confused, do you guys trust DogFoodAdvisor site? |
