The area we live in has no reported outbreaks of Lepto and therefore we
decided based on his recommendation and my research which is mainly
internet related to forego the vaccine at this time. | Thank you for your calmly stated, clear reply. I live in a more rural area and there are many pet owners who don't keep up on vaccines. The neighbor down the block lost her beloved pup to Parvo. Knowing that we don't have a good herd immunity here, I have opted for risking the negative response to the Lepto vaccine and Bon Bon does get it. He hasn't had the second vaccine that would trigger the anaphylactic reaction yet, but I'm still willing to take the risk. We also have a high population of wildlife. Squirrels, chipmunks, skunks, and so on are commonly seen close to our house. I haven't seen foxes, but I've seen tracks and signs. I discussed vaccinations with my vet and she and I agree that it's worth it. |
