The OP may be able to get it cheaper on Chewy, especially if they take advantage of free shipping. However, I believe that since it is a prescription food, the vet will have to provide the prescription so the OP can get the food from Chewy. I would run these past the vet first to make sure you get the correct type of I/D food. From the Chewy website: "Special Note: Hill's Prescription Diets require a veterinary prescription. This product will not be shipped until a copy of a valid prescription authorization is faxed to 1-800-619-7973 or e-mailed to rx@chewy.com." |
We had lots of issues with our little Tosh. He had terrible stools while on Royal Canine. This is what the breeder used and suggested we stick with, but all along our boy as a puppy struggled with loose bowel issues. At times dry foods worked to help some but within a month or so he would go back to having loose stools with blood and the smell was terrible. Many baths!! So he is now on (Hills ID low fat can) prescribed by the internal medicine vet for dogs. We use the (Original low fat) the stew he just would not have! We went through months trying to help Tosh he lost a lot of weight. But after tests they finially found he had chronic pancreatitis and irritable bowel syndrome. He now is doing great on this prescription diet food as long as he doesn't get anything from the table. He also takes 1/4 Metoclopramide 5mg tablets. One in the morn and one before bed. Peptide 1/4 nightly. So finially we are so glad to find there's such a food that helped our boy! Hopefull you will find the right food too. All our other babies seem to do well on Hills dry kibble. Science diet for toy breeds. Little YORKIE on the bag. They love it dry or at times with some baby food chicken as a side. These guys have all been finicky eaters too.😳 |
Dog food Thanks for your replies. I've been feeding the Id wet food since feb. No change on that. Im giving a little bit of dry royal can in mini for sensitive stomachs. My problem is I read stuff on line about both of these foods . We all want to feed the best to our dogs. I took Daisy for shots and wound up buying a bag of science diet I'd dry. Got it home looked at the ingredients and took it back. At least royal can in has chicken meal as 1st ingredient, not rice. I really respect what dog lovers say on this site so I will do that and quit reading other negative reviews |
