| Not eating. Hi wondering if anyone has had issues with puppy just not wanting to eat. We have tried mixing dry food with chicken broth and etc. She sniffs, takes a bite and walks away. She will go all day with just eating one bowl. She is acting fine and no issues except for lack of interest in eating. Help!!

| Have you tried wet food? Have you tried a different brand? Could she not like the bowl and prefer it on a plate or the floor.

| Hello YT Hope all is well. So, Benji has decided that he is going to be very picky at what he eats. He does not want his kibbles. He was on Health Extension and I have introduced brown rice/lean ground beef/green beans and broccoli. I mixed it with his kibbles and he has outsmarted me. He picks the kibbles out of the food and drops them on the floor and only eats his homemade food. I went to pet store bought him Taste of the Wild and mixed that with his homemade food and he didn't eat it at all. So, I ended up giving him just the homemade and he ate it however my concern is that I know he needs those kibbles to get the right amount of nutrients. What or how do I rest assure his health is ok. And how do i get him to eat the kibbles |

Here's our experience. Maybe it can help. Our pup had to have teeth pulled that would not fall out so she had two rows of teeth. We discovered the teeth when she wasn't eating - finding out why. Her mouth hurt. Our vet and breeder recommended leaving food down all the time and letting the yorkie decide when to eat because of low blood sugar tendencies for yorkies. When we had multiple pets including a cat this would have been hard but since our pup's now a one-and-only we can do this easily. When we first brought her home we had to encourage her letting her eat out of our hand. Sometimes she's a "social" eater - she likes to eat when we do. But not very often. We have found our pup is mostly a grazer. She is small and eats just the amount recommended on the package - sometimes less. She eats off and on during the day in smaller amounts. I mix two flavors to try to avoid pickiness (we use Taste of the Wild that her breeder used) and she will pick out some and drop them on the floor and not eat them. If we are away for a few hours she won't eat until we return. Don't know what that's about! We use fresh foods as her treats instead of dog treats. Sometimes she'll have pureed pumpkin. She's allergic to apple, we think. So, first check her teeth/gums to make sure there is no problem and if there is get it corrected. Get her weighed to make sure she's not losing weight. Make sure there's no other underlying health issue. If she's peeing and pooping she may be getting enough. if you can maybe try self-feeding with food always available. Try "social eating." See if you can get some samples of appropriate kibble to try to find one that works. | |

| We have tried all the tricks and literally can't think of any others. We have not given her snacks or anything to see if she gets hungry enough to eat her kibbles. Lately, she eats one meal and is content for the day makes me nervous because next week goes in for surgery and worried about the lack of eating

Have you tried sprinkling Parmesan cheese on her food? What are you feeding her for kibble? How old is she?
