| Dry skin Hello Been noticing that Macy has been scratching and nipping at her skin. I checked it and she has some dry skin. Not sure what product or products that anyone has used in the past that really worked. Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks 🤗

| My boy has allergies, my vet advised me to use HyLyt shampoo and HyLyt conditioner.

| It sounds like it could be allergy related you may want to have you vet check it out.

| We use Hylte also but when Cali gets really dry, like in the winter, we use Dermoscent Spot-On.

| This could be a few things: food, or health issues. Check with your vet to make sure that there is nothing wrong with her health such as allergy or other health-related issues. Then you can look at the food. Most food that contains corn as the 1st ingredient, you should avoid. You can read more about best diet for your dog at: From Best to Worst - My NEW Rankings of 13 Pet Foods I found that adding fish oil to my dog food is a good longer term cure. Some people favor coconut oil or olive oil but I sware by good fish oil. You can also improve the condition of Macy's skin by using choosing a good shampoo. My favorite one is Isle of Dogs - Silky Oatmeal Shampoo. A leave-in condition also helps temporarily. Last edited by krazy4pets; 04-26-2017 at 11:45 AM. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | What exactly do you mean "dry skin" - dogs won't usually nip at just dry skin. This sounds like more than that. Can you describe further?

| Is Macy a puppy? Or older than a year old? With both of mine, they had dandruff as puppies and then outgrew it - no idea why or how.

YT 2000 Club Member | Dog Dry skin may be caused by food. My friends Yorkie was allergic to chickem. She is on Fromm beef fritata and doing well. Sounds like an allergy to me, Last edited by sandy simpson; 04-27-2017 at 10:51 AM. Reason: spelling |
