Here's the latest. Called the other vet. She has them back on the metro on a probistic and on a parasite med. Jojo has very mushy stool . Daisy too. My daughter, Lisa is a registered nurse. She said oh mom you are overmedicating those dogs. Take them off those drugs give them just chicken and rice and the probiotic. Only 3 more days on the parasite med.
I trust thevet. She is aggressive but I can't get this poop right. You are all so helpful. Thank you!

The vet does not know. After 2 stool samples she is treating for parasites. Back on the metro. It is frustrating not knowing what is causing this. I stopping the parasite med and the antibiotic and doing just chicken and rice and probiotic. Hope this helps.

I don't think stopping what the vet says is a good idea.

Please please please *do not* stop the meds!!! If your daughter is a nurse (as am I), she should know that you never stop meds 1/2 way thru, most especially antibiotics bc that is precisely what causes antibiotic-resistant strains of germs.

What is the stool being tested for...?
Have they been tested for giardia or have they ever had giardia?

Get off all poultry and grains. I would get a kibble like Natures Logic Venison, so that you have a novel protein.

I did not stop the meds. Decided to follow the vets advice. Two more days on the parasite med. I had Jojo stool checked twice. Spent 90 bucks on 3 poop checks. Only checked daisy's once. Getting green mushy poop but probably due to the meds. So hard not to stress over this. Thanks for your continued concern.

I had 2 poop samples so I think there is no giardia. I already did a round ofantibiotics. That's why Lisa thinks im overmedicating. I just know this soft stool needs to get right. Praying for good results.

Overly soft stools are definitely not normal.

The giardia test would have to be ordered...I would not assume they're doing it. And btw, giardia *often* hides under microscope...it can take several times of testing to find it. Antibiotics don't treat giardia.
