Excessive itching/scratching My Yorkie, Ginger is 10 years old. She has been my companion for 4 years and generally in pretty good health, besides a terrible hacking from her trachea problem. Also, just recently, Ginger is quite frequently scratching all over her body. She eats well, sleeps good, goes for walks with me and is attentive and loves to sit with me at times during the day and/or evening. She does not have fleas nor any other mites that I can see nor is her skin broken open anywhere. Is there something I can use on Ginger to help alleviate this need to scratch? |
You can give benadryl. The dosage is 1mg per pound and can be given every 12 hours. I give my 5 pound pup 1/4 of a benadryl when she's itchy. |
Sounds like allergys, you need to head to the vet. |
A vet visit is deff in order as this could be anything from allergies to a Thyroid problem. |

My fur kid had that this past June , she was so itchy and red. My advice is to bring her to the vet. Susan |
