| Puppy has a metallic-like smell?? (almost like pennies..) I've noticed it off and on over the last couple months (she's only 6 months). I'm not sure if it's her coat or her breath. I can't quite pinpoint it. She gets bathed about every 2.5-3 weeks. We spray this scented "Biosilk" on her occasionally to keep her hair from tangling. In regards to her teeth, we brush them about every other day and give her a denty stick a few times a week. So she is a puppy that has very good and precise hygiene. Her poop hasn't been odd smelling or anything like that. We had her to the vet a few weeks ago for an upset stomach. (turned out to just be stress or allergies from having family stay with us for a week). The vet didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. Plus, this smell has been off and on since before that episode. Eating has been normal. Energy has been normal. Loves to play. Loves to snuggle. But this scent just baffles me. Any help? I did read it could be teething and her gums bleed which give off this iron-like smell, but I find that such a small amount of blood from teething can cause such a scent. Any kind of input would be appreciated! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I would smell right near the eyes too as the eye leakage can definitely have a smell, esp when they're teething too.
