Concerned with heat cycle

I had an appt to get my 2 yo dog spayed and before she went she came in heat. I got her from a breeder who let her have 1 litter in november then i got her after. Anyways, she began bleeding exactly 2 weeks ago. Shes still bleeding! Her little panties are big on her so she spends alot of time in her area and I feel bad. Is this normal? This is her first heat after having pups. I had called the vet when she first started and asked how long she would bleed and the person on the phone said 7 days. Shes not bleeding much at all. Should i call the vet?

You should wait a month and reschedule her spay....she comes into heat, she bleeds, she goes on to step two the step three....after it is all over, THEN you have her spayed. Rule of thumb is they come into heat about every 6 months....so as long as you have her spayed before she is in season again in 6 months, you are OK...but a vet wont normally mess around with a spay close to a period because of all the blood engorged organs you are messing around with...it is just too easy to choose a 4 month period where the risk is not evident.

Yes, i understand that. My concern is i was told she would bleed 7 days and its been over 2 weeks.
