Tooth brushing Has anyone tried the new Pet Pure Teeth and Gum Pen? Sounds and looks interesting. Is on sale at doggieloot. It is said to be VOHC recommended. Always looking for a better way to take care of those little fangs :D |
I just use a baby tooth brush and dog paste. I start when I get them. Now my dogs wait in line to get their teeth brushed. Moki is 3yrs old. When he got his check up I asked the Vet should he go in for a cleaning...He said NO. he has the best teeth he has ever seen. Brush for a few minutes everyday will improve their health in the long run. I have 3 Yorkies brush there teeth everyday.JME |
Wow this looks like an excellent product...I think I'll try it on my 3 that lets me brush their teeth. Of course, it shouldn't replace daily teeth brushings. I'd like to know if anyone else tried it too...please share! |
Hi, Winny is 4 yrs old and has the worst breath! I don't brush his teeth, I probably should! Does this mean he has a vitamin deficiency for having bad breath? Thank you. |
winston winny: Have a vet check his teeth. He could have: plaque bacteria build up cavities/teeth needing extraction causing the bad breath. |

:) thanks... need to be brushing his teeth! |
Brushing their teeth is as important as brushing your. Dont brush your teeth for a week and see how your breath would smell. Its an important part of hygiene with animals also.http://pets.webmd.com/dogs/features/...s-problems..If you start late its harder. But 20 seconds a everyday can regain health gums....Can't go all in and do it over night. It takes time |
I brush Cali's teeth regularly for years and they bang - an abscess! Got it taken care of and the vets are perplexed as to how it occurred. Just wondered if anyone had used these " pens". Might be another avenue to oral care for our pups! |
Thank you for this thread! I have been lax on the brushing and was horrified when I looked in the girls mouths. I have started brushing daily for 3-4 days and saw a difference this morning- still have some work to do.:( |

teeth brushing My yorki is 6 months old. I have just tried to brush his teeth and he absolutely will not let me. He fights it so hard, I'm afraid I will hurt him if I hold him too tightly. Any suggestions?:. |

We do a specific "special" treat after brushing and another type of special treat after bathes. That way it is something extra special that he normally does not get, and hopefully he looks forward to getting them. These are different treats than our normal training treats. I also try to do a training session right after tooth brushing since he loves those so much. Mario is a service dog in training, but any dog can have a training session right after brushing if they enjoy it. |
Thank you, Mayzoo! I will try giving Winny treats after brushing & his bath time! |
