LindaLS | 05-28-2015 08:45 AM | Thought I would add my 2 cents here. As my Hanna has gotten older she developed a bad reaction to the rabies shot at about 12 years old. Than she would also get benydryl shots to help when she was 13 and again at 14. But the last was 14 and there was no way to control the reaction as it had gotten so much worse. Her breathing was extremely heavy, rubbing up against furniture. Pacing sitting pacing. Every surface began to turn red and even her mouth showed signs of swelling. So the vet agreed that would be her last rabies shot and she hasn't had another one since. Just be aware this may be worse next time. Don't leave the office for an hour after the shot as the reaction will no doubt kick in by than. |
