Some of Samson's favorites are green peppers, cheddar cheese, potato chips & peanuts (only because we have accidentally dropped one and he gobbled it up). I don't give him much people food so these are the only things he's tried and liked. He didn't care for carrots...he just played with it!! |
I make a puppy stew and it has broccoli, zucchini, yellow squash, greenbeans, peas, chicken, oatmeal and garlic in it. Millie loves it! |

I have not given Stella fruits or veggies. Tonight while making a salad I dropped a carrot and she ran with it and really didn't want to give it back.. I know this probably sounds stupid but when you give your furbaby raw veggies how small are the pieces? Do you give them a whole baby carrot or do you cut it in pieces approx the size of their kibble? |
We give the whole baby carrot. They like to chew on it :) |
Yea Veggies !! Bogey gets a whole baby (raw) carrot every morning when I leave for work. He also loves raw green beans as a treat & likes a sliver of an apple or two when he can get it !!:animal36 |
Bailey likes everything. We are careful to not over do it on the veggies but peas, green beans, carrots, bell peppers, cucumbers, etc. Anything with a little crunch and not too leafy. With the contaminated dog food thing still not settled we are less concerned with feeding him "human" food. Once we settle on a dry yorkie food he likes and does well on it I am sure we will cut back on people treats.............. maybe.;) Love to all, Samc and Bailey:aimeeyork |

hi there. i was wondering, since you feed your dog chicken breast, lean beef.. is his stool liquid? we began feeding out puppy some chicken, beef, and come vegs.. and his stool is very liquid. |
I feed chicken, ground turkey, brown rice, shredded cheese, Flax cereal, baby carrots as a chew, cottage cheese, yogurt, applesauce, apples, toddler hot dogs, and misc. veggies. And, Canidae for grazing. |
For what it is worth, if you are not feeding your Yorkie Dry dog food (and even if you are) tartar buildup is a big problem. You should be brushing Yorkie's teeth several times a week and watching closely for tartar as it reaches the gum line. I brush Bailey's teeth almost daily and have since he was a puppy and he is 4 years old, has great teeth but is just about due for his first cleaning. There is a real danger in small breeds developing problems requiring extraction of teeth. So Brush, brush, brush. Samc and Bailey;) |
Carrots We gave our Mizuki a baby carrot for the first time tonight. She loved it. I am curious about beef soup bones. I have been getting mixed messages. We gave her a cooked one without gristle on it, to knaw on. She loves it. Its pretty thick and round without harmful edges. Is that ok? |
Natures Recipe We started giving Mizuki Nature's Recipe dry food and occasionally Beneful wet food. She takes her time eating the dry food but will eat the beneful pretty fast. Is Beneful a good dog food? :animal36 |

What foods can you get in your area? |
Elliott gets a green bean every day, which he loves. I give them to him raw, he likes chewing on them more than the cooked ones. |
We feed Kenzie 1/2cup of Science Diet Small Bites puppy, don't know if that the right amount for her but its what the bag says. She also likes a bit of apple, some Pedigree mini biscuit (less than 2 pieces per day as told by the vet), and she also liked Cheerios. How many Cheerios per day can I give her as treats? Also, can dogs eat amaranth? |
Forgot to say that she also has her Karo syrup twice a day, the vet told us to give her 1ml of it each time. |

She's 3 months old, don't know how big is the "standard" at that age for a yorkie, ill try to take her measuments though. Maybe I need to stop giving the Karo syrup? Or just once a day? Think I've read some of your posts where it says its just in case of an emergency. |
