Anyone feed their dog beneful Class-Action Lawsuit Claims Purina's Beneful Is Poisoning, Killing Dogs - NBC News I've been feeding mine this dog food for a while now |
Oh my, that is so horrible. I hope word gets out about it. I know they put a lot of cash toward marketing that brand and it shows. The bag it comes in is very nice looking bag. The food is garbage though. I think it got a one star (out of 5) rating on dog food advisor. it is hard to find a brand that has not had any recalls or warnings. I have my pup on wellness, and I believe they had a recall in 2012 due to possible salmonella contamination from one of diamond dog foods production plants. I put myself on a dog food recall notification list just to be safe. |
I heard a while ago it was linked to deaths. I kinda wonder if it's what caused one of the dogs I grew up with to end up with cancer and having seizures probably will never know. Purina is the makers of the waggin train chicken jerky that was linked to hundred of dogs deaths and it took them years to pull it. Sadly it's back on the market. I would not trust them and would not feed any of there food especially not this one. I would switch ASAP. |

Dog Food Reviews and Ratings | Dog Food Advisor is a great easy to read source while selecting potential foods to feed your pups. There is a lot of good info to read there. It's a wonderful tool for your tool box. I hear complaints about him being a dentist but I have yet to hear that ANY of his info is faulty. I haven't seen anyone post an easier to read source than Dog Food Reviews and Ratings | Dog Food Advisor . |
I wouldn't touch this crap food with a 10 foot pole. |
Sigh, I'm really limited to where to get dog food where I live in this remote area :( Snopes is saying it's unconfirmed so far. http://www.snopes.com/critters/crusader/beneful.asp |
This has been going on for awhile...There is a Facebook page on this.... https://www.facebook.com/PurinaKillsDogs |

The closest places here for me is where Karen lives or over towards St. Louis. After hearing this on the news last night, I'm going to call the vet after work. My lil boy means to much to me to be taking any chances. Pretty sad to be importing pet food from China :( |
This is a perfect example why you shouldn't buy pet food from Big Brands like Purina, pedigree and supermarket brands. They spend their money on marketing but cut money on the ingredients that goes into the actually food. Just my 2 cents.. |

Here are a few links that might be much more helpful. Skeptvet even has a Facebook page that you can follow and is always posting Science based information and research articles. Nutrition | The SkeptVet Dr. Remmilard is a Veterinary Nutritionist that have many articles regarding all types of dog foods that are also Science based. You can also ask her questions regarding nutrition and she is very willing to answer as a Veterinary professional. https://www.petdiets.com The whole idea of people giving their opinions about dog food is IMO is pretty much like the people that refuse to give their children vaccines siting Google information that is not Science based......just a bunch of people giving opinions and not listening to the Science based conclusions. I feed all three of mine Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein purchased from (gasp) my vet. |
