It was a hard week for My daughter and son-in Law with little Homer. He is so active and they are not used to a baby (human or animal). Like a new Mom she wanted everything to be perfect and thought he would just be a lazy pup . He is very normal !!! Barking biteing and like a baby crying for Mom. My son -in law works nights and needs to sleep during the day for cetain schedules so it was hard for him to get sleep during the day with the little guy. I don't see them during the week but I talk to her daily and she said last night he is inproveing. according to my son-in-law He was perfect yesterday I am told. My son-in-law put him in his crate after play and he was able to sleep for several hours before Homer stirred. Homer is growing she said .I am going to spend Friday night with her and Homer since her husband works 8pm to 8am all weekend. I will spoil Homer then. I need to get a kennel this weekend for my house so I can keep him here when I puppysit. Paper training is not so good but is is still very young . I will try another photo this weekend and post it Fran |

*#(@^* out of my husband ....didn't want to wait for him to finish his dinner...just wanted his good stuff NOW!!!!!! He even taught himself the "sit pretty" begging thing!!!!! Any one who saw him beg and beg would give him a bite of something!!! Eventually we noticed this was taking a toll on him...he began to not tolerate people foods as well even though he continued to beg. At age 12 he was over 13 pounds and aging quickly.....his joints went hurting and he had trouble breathing.....the final plunge came when he got deathly sick and the vet found his blood sugar to be over 700!!!!!! He died the next day....... We loved him "TOO MUCH".....and he maybe would still be here with us. So now, Lil Bit gets NO PEOPLE FOOD....except I have caught my hubby doing it again.....I have convinced him the table food...even tiny bites (she is 2# 5 oz) gives her diarrhea and he will lay off for a while. But the aging greyhound, Lori, is sooooooo spoiled...we know she is dying and have made it a point to feed her great stuff every day.....she has an iron stomach and loves every bite of it!!!! So when Lori runs to her food bowl....the whole gang follows her..... |
I do feed Archie some people food, but with extreme caution. he can only have certain fruits, vegetables, cheeses and meats. I would never give him like ramen noodles or anything. dogs for years survived on "people" food before pet food companies started their big campaigns. green apples, hard boiled eggs, cheese, cooked minced meat, etc. are his favorites. I avoid chocolate, raisins, etc. i have neighbors that feed their dog coffee in the morning. it's insane... |
